Ahhhhhhh the beauty of a Saturday! My headache was gone when I woke up thankfully!  Ethan and I had a visit with our neighbors who are moving. Our kids and their kids shared a bus and grew up together. We chatted for about a half hour in their driveway. We will miss them. They have been great neighbors. Ethan worked in the garage for the morning. He became very tired and had to take a break. He had to nap, which is becoming more of a thing for him. Heart and kidneys check out as stable, so this may be something he will need to get used to at 22.  I got up on the ladder and cleaned the outside windows in our kitchen. They needed it. I probably haven’t done them in well over a year. This evening I went to a surprise 50 th birthday party. The birthday girl was one of my first made friends ever, a childhood neighborhood friend. It was nice to see her. She looks amazing for 50.  While I was there, Ethan texted me and asked if I was wearing his glasses (I was not). He had...

Yay! It’s Friday!  I have been putting off a call to the county department of Social Services to inquire about Medicaid and what the nexts steps will be since Ethan lost his SSI. I have been putting it off for the very reason of the hassle of it all. I called, went through a few prompt menu’s and sat on hold for quite some time. I actually startled because I had forgotten I was on hold and what I was calling about for a split second. The final consensus is that I need to wait for paperwork with next steps. I did some meal prep this evening. These men eat! I then developed a nasty head ache and am going to bed early. Yuck!

My little grand kitty had his neuter today. Avery dropped him off and our vet friends took great care of him. Avery had to answer the questions and make the decisions. I had her stop by for a visit afterward. She stayed for a bit. The dogs miss her and were stuck to her like glue. Kendall picked Pluto up from the vet and got all the instructions. They are both very caring and loving people and wanted to make sure they did everything correctly for this little guy. Well Pluto discovered that he really enjoys opioids.  Right from the start he gave them a hard time. He was licking his incision right away. Avery drove home and grabbed Jiminy’s lamp shade. By the time she got home, Pluto had stopped licking. Pluto was very vocal and following them around. His pupils were huge.  One of the medications he was given causes that. He was feeling no pain. In fact, he was feeling invincible. A while later, he had jumped on the fish tank and made the cover fall in along with him. Aver...

I love everyone’s comments on what is the first thing you wash in the shower. I did a short shift this evening at the vet hospital and took a poll there. It is quite the conversation starter. I asked one of my vet office friends and her answer was “arms”. She then asked one of the guys “hey, what do you wash first in the shower…..and don’t make it weird.” That made me laugh. I may have to add that in when I ask other people. Luckily….mostly everyone has not made it “weird”….mostly….but not all. Ha! Paul made it home from Michigan. He had to travel there for work. He almost got into a nasty accident right near our house. Someone blew a stop sign and almost T-boned him. He swerved and his car and was just missed. The caveat….this all happened in front of a cop. Paul rolled the window down inches from the cop car to make sure the cop was ok. There was no collision thankfully, but the cop went after the person that blew the stop sign. When I got home from the vet office job, I was a hot co...

I needed to take a mental break from work and decided to scroll social media. I stumbled across a heated debate. The question posed was “when you get in the shower, what part of your body do you wash first?” It’s funny, I never thought about it before, but apparently I have a routine.  There were many different answers that people have. One person said her neck. Someone said hands and face. One answer was armpits. Someone else said they started from their feet and worked their way up. People were debating and arguing over which is the right way. Sooooo….what is the right way? Well, there was never a “right way” stated. Isn’t it all the “right way” if we walk out fresh and clean? I did get curious about what other people do. It didn’t even dawn on me that people may have a different routine than I do.  The first thing I wash is my hair. I asked Ethan and he also answered with he washes his hair first. I asked Avery, the answer was hair. Is this because I taught them? ...

Today I worked A LOT! 11 interviews plus going through endless resumes. Such a glamorous life I lead. I took a break to eat dinner and spent the evening going through résumé’s and sending outreach. My calendar is booked tomorrow as well. We had some activity with the barndominium project. We had equipment show up. There were men staking things and there were materials dropped off. Moe was not a big fan of strangers on his field. He put himself between me and them. His guarding was a sweet gesture but he was not left unattended. I don’t trust him to make good choices. Before dinner the dogs and I worked on our fitness. We did two laps around the field. Moe’s activity tracker had his top speed measured at 19 mph. Yikes! He sure had fun running his brains out. Look how happy he is. All the dogs did two laps. Even little old man Ferguson did two laps happily. I put a cop show on in the background while I was combing resumes this evening. Ethan and I both like this show. It is called “...

Paul and I were productive today. I did meal prep this morning, swapped out the dog bedding, my normal Sunday chores. Boring!m I did find a stick bug which was cool. It is very delicate and elegant at the same time. It was a very neat discovery. Ethan and I watched it move in awe for about 20 minutes. Paul and Ethan have a project they were working on together in the garage this morning. It wiped Ethan out. I came inside after mowing and found Ethan fast asleep on the couch.  His bloodwork came back that he is a little anemic but not overly concerning. Anemia goes hand in hand with kidney disease. Kidneys are responsible so ke for releasing a hormone called erythropoietin. That is a mouth full. Erythropoietin is like a cattle prod to the bone marrow saying “ok time to make more red blood cells”. When the kidneys are damaged, they don’t always do their best at this task….and the body becomes anemic. I am glad Ethan listens to his body and takes these rests. I went to our frien...
