9/14

After work today we ran some errands. Then Avery and I took the dogs for a walk in the field. We saw several deer. Penny thought she was chasing one. She wasn’t. It was already running away from us. She got within about 30 yards of it and retreated because she got nervous. What a scaredy cat.

Phineas also saw 3 deer. They spotted him as well. They stood for several moments, still, eyeballing each other. The deer finally decided to run away when they saw phineas’s tail wagging. It was fun to watch.

Ferguson, my gentleman, rolled in poop. I am so disappointed with his rolling in poop obsession. He got a bath in the sink. Other than poop rolling he is a good boy.

Ethan was working on his homework tonight. I am glad he is feeling well enough to keep up the momentum.

Paul started up bowling again. He is happy to get to see his friends each week in person again.

We are hanging in there.

  1. rolling in it versus eating it is a better alternative 😜
I'm so happy to hear more of these great days happening, more normal and calm 💗

  2. One day at a time. You've got this.

I remember when we took our dog camping in the finger lakes. We rented a small cottage. We went for a hike on a trail that ran through a cow pasture. The cows were nowhere near so we let our dog off leash to run around. It was so joyful to watch her running through the field. Until she rolled in a huge cow paddy. She really ground it in. We used her water bowl to try to rinse her when we got to a stream, but it wasn't enough. When we got back to the cottage I had to squeeze an 80 pound dog into the shower stall (no tub).

    We still love her, though.
