Happiest birthday to my first born. He’s a fighter. His first gift today was a snow day from his college. Woo hoo! His overall gift was NO BIOPSY!!!!!!! He even said that he is getting restored hope that 2022 is going to be a better year.

He looks better and feels better.

We didn’t  have anything really planned for today. We made our own pizza’s for dinner. I even made stuffed crust. We have lots of Ethan’s favorite snacks. He is having some friends over this weekend.

The snow is amazing, there is just to much of it. Ethan plowed with the 4 wheeler. The winch broke, so he had to make due with not being able to move the plow up and down. He just had it down and moved the snow. Avery and I made sure the side walk was shoveled. Phineas played out in the snow too.

Ethan had his best friend, Ryan over and Ryan shared the brownies and ice cream we had. Ethan didn’t want us to sing, which Avery and I wouldn’t accept because our naturally beautiful (not really) non-harmonizing opera style voices are really a unique gift.

His other friend, Casey is coming over tomorrow. Ethan is excited because he hasn’t seen her since before his kidney transplant. We are making it a birthday weekend.

The brownies Avery and I made together. It was a layer of brownie mix, a layer of chocolate and Carmel mix that was gooey and delicious, topped with another layer of brownie, topped with melted dark chocolate. Did I mention the brownie mix also had chocolate chips in it? I named it “edible diabetes waiting to happen”. Luckily blood work isn’t until Wednesday, so Ethan’s blood sugar should be fine by then.

Paul was away with our snowmobiling friends. I miss them but had to spend our first birthday out of the icu with Ethan.

Thank you to everyone that reached out and wished Ethan a happy birthday. We appreciate it.

  2. GREAT pics...but I'm somewhat disappointed he didn't try to recreate the pumpkin photo...lol. We have a photo of my daughter wearing a similar costume as a baby, only with an anguished face, not the delighted face Ethan's displaying. Hope he had the HAPPIEST of birthdays and is enjoying the snow, weekend with friends, good news and continued positivity.
