6/10/23

Ladies are far better planners than men. That is a bold statement. The reason it came up, was because this morning while congregating in the living space of the suite, Paul and Jason discussed how when they arrived at Canton, they went to the fraternity house first. Except when they finally came to the dorm it was after midnight, they had a DD and they didn’t have their bags with them.

Heather brought minimal bedding for Jason. Paul’s bedding was in his vehicle at the fraternity house. He ended up sleeping on the rubber mattress with a blanket Jason gave him, using the towel I brought for him as a pillow. Jason, since he gave his blanket to Paul, used a towel as his blanket. Heather and I had our comfy beds, with blankets and pillows. All of us have separate rooms in the suite.

Phineas is still not doing well. Avery has been giving him his tummy pills but he is going on day 3 with no food intake and little to no drinking (he had fluids the other day under the skin to hydrate him). My poor pup. I have more fluids to give him tomorrow when I get home.

I walked around campus by myself this morning for exercise. It is more hilly than I remember. I went and saw the veterinary science building. I looked at the classrooms, kennels, surgery, lab etc. they are all in a newer building that was constructed in the last 10 years or so. It is a beautiful facility.

Heather and I went on a walk around this cool new park. We got to see several views of the little waterfalls within the Grasse River. We found the old footprint of a saw mill that existed years ago.

We then went to Jason and Paul’s fraternity house. Just remembering the different things that happened in that house, opened us up to share more stories. This weekend is always nice because you meet people that you would never normally meet, but they share similar experiences from the same location as you. It’s also a safe zone.

There was a cook out complete with a fire alarm going off telling us to evacuate and having to contact the fire department that it was a false alarm. Oops.

We wound the evening down and it was time for bed. We had a long day. Somehow, the rubber mattress was more comfortable when you are tired.
