Full day #2 with Mossimo. I have been studying him to see what his triggers are. It isn’t just men. It’s anyone new. It also seems worse if Moe is in between Ethan or I and said person. It is a resource guarding situation.

To combat that, we are trying new things. This morning Moe heard Paul upstairs and did a low growl. To combat that, we took a walk (we still have him leashed anytime he is out of the crate) around the house to look at stuff.

One of the places we went was in our bedroom where Paul was minding his own business. Moe was distracted with new things to see and smell so he didn’t much care about Paul. He didn’t growl or bark. He let Paul approach him and pet him. That is progress. We just have to learn how to redirect him.

Moe does fine when Ethan and I are home. The other dogs don’t mind him. We go on several walks around the field. He has graduated to his 30 foot leash for his walks. He walks very calmly and doesn’t pull.

I also found that the bark deterrent device is helpful. It is a manual hand held device that gets the dog’s attention. It makes a high pitched noise that dog’s don’t like. It also has a flashlight mode where it blinks a light at them. It is enough to redirect their attention.  I got it on Amazon and it works!

Liam came over tonight and Moe was flipping out. With the device and some treats he quieted down quickly and allowed Liam to pet him. Moe had the same reaction to Avery when she came home.

He is going to be a lot of work to reprogram. We will get there.

I had to call the new pharmacy (I miss our old pharmacy). Ethan ordered a refill on one of rejection medications 5 days ago. The pharmacy sent a request to Ethan’s old doctor accidentally. It was denied because he isn’t a patient there anymore, twice.

In the mean time I had reached out to the current doctor asking for a new script, knowing we were out of refills. The new doctor sent one over. Right away because this is a rejection medication.

The pharmacy received the new script from the correct doctor ran it through insurance. The new script wasn’t coded correctly (to bill insurance) so the pharmacy just discarded it without sharing with us that it couldn’t be filled. They also never reached out to request a new script that would be coded correctly to be able to bill insurance. Again, on a rejection medication.

Here we are 5 days later. I called to see if the refill is ready because we don’t want to miss a dose of this. What a process. It took about 5 minutes to even get to the right menu of prompts. I was really exercising my patience, but was really sick of the AI bot. I finally get to the right menu. Then the AI bot said (5 minutes in) “if this is an emergency, dial 911.”

Paul was listening to all the prompts and was disgusted for me at how long it took get talk to a person. “If this were an emergency, you would have been dead with the length of time that just took. Why didn’t the pharmacy lead the recorded message with that?” Paul said.

“That process was longer than their receipts” Paul was on fire with his commentary.

I was finally able to leave a message for the pharmacist to call me back. She called back about 20 minutes later. As I spoke to her, we developed a plan to get this script filled quickly. I just hate there are so many hoops to jump through. I am disappointed that a pharmacy would be so lackadaisical with a rejection medication.

Ethan got his jury duty summons. It was the week of his kidney biopsy and appointment with SSI I tried to reschedule a few weeks ago but couldn’t. Ethan used his one and only “get out of jail free” card, to reschedule. He filled out the form and rearranged it to be in December.

I was disappointed that Ethan’s doctor didn't respond to my MyChart question about Ethan’s kidney stone. Luckily, he has no symptoms (yet).

Avery came home from school. She was not used to being around all of us. She was sick of us all very quickly. Good thing we are spending lot of time together at camp.

Tomorrow we are going to camp. Liam will be here to watch the house. Yay!
