Animals are so interesting on the behaviors they observe. Moe enjoys sitting on the porch. Moe can’t be left outside without supervision for long. I don’t allow him to do this unless I am either outside with him or he is on his tie out away from any delivery person that may show up.

Moe has figured out when my phone calls are ending for work. As soon as I hang up from a call, he jumps up and is bugging me to go out. He doesn’t have to go to the bathroom. He just wants to sit on the porch.

I can’t tell if it is the inflection in my voice or a key phrase I say, but he knows when the call is done. There is no noise that signals I have hung up.

Penny has learned that if she hears the life 360 noise, someone is coming in the house soon. It is really cool that they pick up on our behaviors and noises.

When I shut my computer at the end of the day, all the dogs get excited. They turn into Velcro.

During our team meeting my boss was presented with a quarterly team nominated award. Our team all separately nominated her unbeknownst that we were all doing it. She deserves the award hands down. I was thankful she was recognized.

She will now be up against three other people for the annual award. That is so exciting.

Sarah came over to stay after work. We caught up on her vacation, what we both have been up to and shared some fun things.

Paul put on his shirt that says “if it doesn’t work the first time, do it the way Patti told you to do it.” What a great shirt.

Paul’s leg is healing. He has now developed pitting edema from the gravity of him standing on his leg all day.

His foot is bruised and nasty looking. He is so worried about infection. Tonight I jokingly said it might need to be amputated and he did NOT appreciate my humor. “That is what I am worried about!” He said.

Pitting edema is when you push on an area and the impression of your finger stays on the skin causing a temporary indentation.

“Omg! Is that bad?” He asked.  Ethan chimed in with a “Dad my whole body was like that at one point.”

Ethan’s blood pressure is coming down nicely. His transplant is pleased with the progress of doubling his blood pressure medication. He is almost back into the normal range. Yay!

Ethan has developed a second mouth sore. He has discontinued the suspected medication for now. The transplant team was worried insurance would not pay for his injectable cholesterol medication if he wasn’t on the pill that is suspected to cause the mouth sores.

It is frustrating to have insurance dictate which medications his medical team wants him on.

It is frustrating to learn about the recent adult daycare fraud going on in New York State with phantom billing while Ethan struggles to eat certain foods because his mouth sores are so bad. He has to keep taking the medication that causes the mouth sores until we can clear with insurance that it won’t goof up coverage for another one of his medications he needs.

Now that he knows he can discontinue without affecting the injectable medication coverage, he can finally start to heal. How dumb is that? Poor kid!

Ethan filled out his application for the electrical apprenticeship. He is hoping to get accepted and start fall of 2027. He still has to do an aptitude test.

He is worried about how this will affect his health. He worries about “what if” something happens with his health that would disqualify him.

Paul and I are trying to figure out when we are going back to camp. Ohhhh the hardship we face with that decision. *sarcasm.
