This morning I spent some time on the phone with one of of our friends we are visiting St. Lucia with. We did some planning and sharing of information. I have a 9 page document of notes, tips, destinations I want to see and do, etc. I love the planning phase.
However, the trip I am doing next May I am letting someone else plan. I am ok with that. Traveling overseas is a bit scary for me. The long flight alone has me nervous.
We have had Moe for 6 months. He had a spa day. Today I clipped his toes by myself with little effort (used bribes). Man he has come a long way.
Moe also got a bath today. I washed his head with no issues. Scrubbed him down, really tried to get out all the dead hair. Scrubbed his ears, sprayed his head. He just sits while I do it. He got all clean bedding too.
After his bath he got to lay in front of the fire to dry off. It was toasty and warm there. He looks like a million bucks. It has been a few weeks since his last bath. He was getting game-y.
Ethan and I went to the bank today. I washed thinking about all the weird stuff that I didn’t parent him through due to his health issues.
The recent discovery that he had never used an ATM, and he said he would feel more comfortable if I went to the bank with him. He does mostly online banking but our bank recently made changes to the app making it so that he is unable to transfer money.
We went to the bank and filled out a withdrawal slip. He had to ask for help with getting his account number. We made a plan of wheat he can do to have that information available for next time.
Between Covid and Ethan’s medical issues, we missed a few learning moments. It’s ok, we are doing them now. Ethan has come a long way.
We had a good chat about where he is with his life and talked about plans moving forward. He wants independence. Who wouldn’t at 21? He feels like everyone his age is farther ahead. They are. But they didn’t have to learn how to walk and swallow. It was a great conversation. I gave him some action items to think about and research.
I removed the ornaments from our tree and the tree is ready for its annual hibernation until next year. I did find a rubber chicken that my cousin hid. We play this game and it is silly. But I do enjoy finding these chickens. It makes me smile. We also discovered (only because he told me) that one of our paintings in the bathroom was upside down and has been this way for the past 14 days. NO ONE HAS NOTICED! Ha!
I am leaving it like that because it is brilliant. Harmless and silly fun!
We had our fire cranking today to keep us warm from this blowy, snowy weather. It is so cozy and warm.
OMG.... I love the rubber chicken and the painting flip. That is priceless. You are in good hands for our trip abroad. It will be an incredible experience together. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe chicken exchange is so fun and silly. It always makes me smile. Sometimes I just leave them where I find them. Then when I discover them again, they make me smile AGAIN! Looking forward to our trip!
