I made it to the airport and through security 12 minutes prior to boarding. I was cutting it close but valued sleep today.

I sat in the area for boarding and saw a man braiding what I assume is his wife’s hair. They were older than me, probably in their 70’s. He then braided what I assume is his daughter’s hair, she was in her late 40’s early 50’s. I don’t think Paul would be able to do that if he tried. To be fair, he also would have no interest.

I wasn’t sure if I should be impressed or kind of creeped out.

I don’t mind traveling alone. I am only in charge of myself. I had one back pack to be in charge of as well. Easy peasy!

I arrived in Kansas City on time and sat in the airport waiting for my coworker to arrive. I ordered a margarita. Yum! I really enjoy her company and was excited to see her.

We checked into our hotel and walked to the conference center to set up our booth. We were sweating and pissed off at the end of setting up the booth.

The events team sent us the wrong booth to set up. Part of the booth set up had directions and half didn’t. We only have one plug for our backdrop which requires an electrical plug.

We are supposed to let people use our personal computers to register themselves for swag. All those people touching my computer……gross. But no plug to plug it in. No table for my computer, so I am supposed to hold it while standing for 8 hours. The entire thing is a bit of a chaotic mess.

The booth was so complicated and cumbersome to set up with two people, we worked on it over two hours and were kicked out before we could finish. We have to go in early tomorrow to get things finished.

I have no idea how I will be able to juggle taking it down and taking all the boxes to the business center by myself. It will require at least 6 trips. One of the boxes is taller than I am and weighs as much as I do. Luckily it is on wheels. There is no cart or anything to assist with taking all of the down the escalator and a long walk down the hall. I will be alone for the teardown. Nightmare!

Afterward Rachele (my coworker) and I met up with a previous teammate for dinner. We sat outside as the sun went down. Margaritas were $5.00. Nice!

Then it was time for bed!
