Today I kept Moe in the den laying by the fire. I rotated friends in so he would t be lonely. Then I locked Jiminy in there and left Moe in with me for a little bit.  This is doable.

The low temperature outside was a challenge getting one of the dogs (Penny) to do her business outside. Ferguson is an efficient little guy and gets the job done quickly.

Jiminy acted normally throughout the day. He just stumbles here and there which is a side effect from the medication he is on.

He is eating well and taking his medications, ok, but only because we bribe him with ham. He thinks that is cool. He is catching onto the ham part.

I am so glad he is home. Ethan is learning how to give him his medications one handed. He is going to perfect the technique before I leave. He is wrapping him in a blanket and putting the syringe full of liquid medication in Jiminy’s mouth with the other.  And geez, don’t forget to have that ham ready.

The process is a bit clunky. Avery was home and was helping. She was the ham girl. Ethan has Wednesday and Thursday morning of practice and then the training wheels are off. He will be on his own. I am not worried, he did well.

Tonight was Papa’s birthday. He is the BIG 87. We took him to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate. It was a nice dinner. We got our cheesecake to go. The caloric intake with one piece of cheesecake is better unknown. It is basically your entire caloric intake for the day, in one piece. The worst part, you don’t even mind eating it.

Happy 87th birthday. In papa’s wise words -“Age becomes just a number. As long as you keep waking up pain free you are doing well.”

Perfect little dog! Look at those tiny toes.

Waiting for Ethan to come down stairs.

The dents in his head are the spots he has no skull. Just skin and brain.

  1. I am so glad he is home. I know Moe is just being a dog and he tries to be a good boy. Please try to make sure Moe gets some loving while you are gone. Have a safe trip to Florida.

  2. Moe was hanging in the livingroom with all of us tonight. He doesn’t even know he did anything wrong. He enjoyed his time on his bed. Earlier today he had all his bones out and was taking turns chewing on them. ❤️ I will remind Paul and Ethan to make sure Moe feels like part of the family.
