We had a fun afternoon today. Paul and I took my Mom and Gene to the casino to meet up with Brian and Kristen for lunch and a gambling session.
We sat overlooking the horse track. There weren’t any races going on, but there were jockey’s running their horses. It was neat to see, however, it looked pretty chilly.
After eating, we received $10 of free cash. I put in $20 for myself and for Paul. I didn’t win a stitch of money. Paul won $50! I was so excited for him. He will have some extra spending cash when he goes snowmobiling!
Kristen won big. She won well over $100. I would have passed out if I won that much. Lifeless on the floor.
After we arrived home I resembled a bump on a log. I did minimal chores between mid afternoon and bed time. I even laid down at one point to be alone and comfy. It was glorious.
Avery is thinking she may go back to school next week. She wants to spend thoughtful time applying to her different summer research opportunities. She will use her campus time to finish applications and get those in.
While Paul and I were gone, Ethan asked Avery to play a game together with him on their phones. They did some sibling bonding and no one was injured. Success! I thought that was cute.
Tomorrow I am just doing catch up with chores around the house. We have another busy week we are heading into. We have appointments, activities and work. I may get out my suitcase and start packing for Florida. Our big vet conference is coming up. Yay! I do enjoy this conference and am luckily to have been able to go for so many years.
I am working my company’s booth. I really enjoy it too. I hope my peri-menopause rage doesn’t invite itself along. There will be a lot of people there. I won’t have time for silly acute rage sessions. Suppressing the rage until having a safe spot to unhinge seems to be the easiest way to cope.
Overall, it was a nice Saturday!
I miss going to that conference! We had some good times there. They have an amazing array of informational lectures too. I wish I was going with you!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a great conference. They changed the venue. It takes place at the convention center. I swear I put on 10 miles a day there. So.much.walking!
