I had today off. Yay! I did do a little work but only a little.
Avery, Kendall (Avery’s suite mate) and I went off to gather information about apartments for next year.
We drove to two different places. On our way to one, we saw an antique store that was going out of business. Everything was 50% off.
I found this cool little lantern for $2.50. Avery fount these lead lamps that she has been seeking for several months. She has never considered buying them because they are always well over $40 a piece and usually damaged. She score 2 of them for $12.50/ lamp.
They appear that they need to be rewired. Avery asked Paul to show her how to rewire them. She said “that seems like a skill that is handy to have.”
We went to another apartment complex and asked a bunch of questions. Avery and Kendall really liked this place. It is close to campus. The apartments have a good layout and decent square-footage.
I remember how exciting it was to move into my new apartment. It was basically a blank slate that I could decorate any way I wanted. I am so excited for her.
Ethan was chatting after work today. He is working on a new machine. He feels it is going well. One of his coworkers offered him some helpful feedback that he appreciated. The owner of the building introduced Ethan to a potential apprentice that might go through the same program Ethan went through.
This time Ethan was on the other side giving advice about his impression of being an apprentice not too long ago. Ethan liked that. He feels he has a purpose and is proud of himself.
He also said he was talking to another co-worker that offered Ethan a thoughtful perspective on things that Ethan had not considered. I enjoy these little talks even though they happen few and far between. I turn my phone off and just engage in the conversation. I remember the time I was wondering if I would ever hear his voice again. I am thankful for these moments.
We went to dinner with my mom and Gene. We had fantastic service and great food from Margaritas in Greece. We had no wait time, our server was prompt, friendly and the food was yummy! It just seems like other restaurants can’t compare.
What a great Wednesday!
a great day all around 💗💗💗💗
ReplyDeletewoo hooo! I have not been to Margaritas yet. I want to try it even though I am not a fan of Mexican food
