 Happy Birthday Nana!

We celebrate Nana’s birthday this Wednesday at the steakhouse.

I was exhausted this morning. I woke up after 8:00 am. This is almost unheard of for me.

Avery left her wallet at home and asked if I could bring it to her. Of course I said yes. The delivery will include hugs and smiles.

Paul and I went out to breakfast with some friends. It was a nice breakfast with great company. I cleared my entire plate it was so good. 🐷🐽

Paul then left to go snowmobiling with his buddy for the rest of the day.

Ethan had a friend over. He and the friend took turns riding the other snowmobile around the field and towing each other on the sled. They were acting like teenage boys.

After breakfast, I took Avery her wallet. I parked illegally so I could just run in and give her the wallet and a quick hug.

Avery has been quite busy at school. I text her here and there just to let her know she is on my mind. I like to get a feel for how she is juggling things and her anxiety.

She shared she is super busy and has an incredible work load but she feels her mental health is really good right now. Yay!

She shared a bit about what is going on in her life. She is getting down to the wire with her submissions for her summer externship. She is scrambling to get her applications in. She has it narrowed down to staying local and traveling to Idaho. We will see where life takes her.

Before I knew it, we had been chatting at least 20 minutes. Damn it! I better not get a ticket even though I chose not to follow the rules. Luckily, I did not.

My suitcase arrived from NYC this afternoon and they dropped it off at our house. I don’t mind that service.

I went over to Aldi and I got a free cart today. Pay it forward! I very rarely run I to people with their heads up their butts at Aldi.

I came home and put the groceries away. After the boys came in, Ethan felt his legs getting cold. After reading a couple articles it seems it could be due to anemia which ties into kidney disease. He is not overly anemic but enough where he is feeling symptoms.

Anemia is a decrease in red blood cells. The kidneys are responsible for sending out a message to the bone marrow to say “hey bone marrow, time to make more red blood cells”. When the kidneys aren’t working properly, it’s like having a drunk person in charge of this task. Sometimes the message isn’t always delivered or received. Then there are less red blood cells and boom…hello anemia.

There is a bit more that goes into it as well. The kidneys regulate iron absorption. Iron is used in the body to help make hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is protein that helps carry oxygen throughout the body and also take away carbon dioxide. It is kinda a big deal.

With an upset to this process he will be noticing and feeling the changes as his kidney disease develops.

Sorry about the science lesson. Knowledge is power!
