9/1/25

How did it get to be September already? Another pretty day. Paul and I decided to spend the majority of the day at camp. When we are there, we don’t have to do real adult things like open the mail and laundry.

Frick and Frack (Penny and Moe) went on a run with me on the bike. We go about 2 miles at top speed. It was a perfect temperature out for that. Not too hot and sweaty.

Penny can run faster than Moe. Moe’s top speed so far is 17 mph. That was measured on his tracking device. Penny, with much shorter legs will run beside Moe, but if prompted, can surpass him with little effort. Her 12 pound body can outrun his 52 pound body.

Lucy was given the chance to play on a smaller tree today.  She was able to run up and down the branches several times and jump from one branch to the next. She has some practicing to do. She discovered eating lilac bush leaves. She had a feast.

She has been spending time out of her cage a little bit more. She sticks close, but did try to do bigger jumps today. She needs to learn about slippery surfaces and not to jump on them.

We ended up stopping on the way home at a store that sold subs. I went to use the bathroom and it sounded like there was a Mom and her few children. I waited patiently. Then the toilet was flushing a lot. The kids were rowdy. A smell emerged. I went into the men’s room instead. Nope! I don’t want that sloppy seconds bathroom situation. The men’s room was fairly decent.

We grabbed some subs and continued on our way.

Paul drove home and I worked on going through my emails for work. Ugh! There are so many!

When we got home, I situated Lucy and decided that tonight was going to be getting her used to the chilly nights. I put her crate outside in a covered and safe location. She will begin her acclimation to real weather and what she can do to keep herself warm.

I started going through mail and found a letter from the insurance company stating that they were denying bloodwork that was done on the day of his nuclear studies. We have to file an appeal. Eyeroll! I would like to  take an appeal and stick it someplace the sun doesn’t shine on someone from the office that denied this claim!

I am now annoyed I have this task on my plate. Grrrrr!

Tomorrow I have a full day. I am hopeful it will go smoothly.
