We got to the lab early and didn’t have to wait too long! Win!   We had enough time to grab a breakfast sandwich and then head in to Urgent Care. I had Ethan’s print out of medications ready.

We headed in early because it takes so long to go over his medical history.

He earned a flu and Covid test that they process right on site. Basically it involves scraping the frontal lobe of the brain. Not really but they inserted the swab pretty far.

His lungs were clear but I advocated for chest x-ray just because Ethan doesn’t behave medically. The staff was super accommodating and efficient.

The X-ray lady came in and shared how her son had a brain injury and medical difficulty. Her son is 23. He has had very similar hardships to Ethan. She was great.

The X-ray came back and the nurse practitioner said she could see where he had broken ribs in the past. We deducted this was a side effect of cpr. We are still learning about medical things that happened. It adds to the miracle that while Ethan was working so hard healing and walking, lifting and vomiting from withdrawals….he did it all with broken ribs.

They are sending off more testing for other viruses. If I had these symptoms it would be a cold and I would get over it. For Ethan it is a major event to work through.

We made it home about 10 minutes before we had to leave for the wine event. My friend Heather came to pick me up. It was quite out of her way but she wanted to spend the extra time together.

We chatted and laughed. We laughed about how perimenopause has been creeping in. Middle aged lady stuff.

We started at the first winery with a tasting. We didn’t stay long there. We went to the second winery and  sat outside. Yep. It was chilly.  We stayed there for quite a while talking and reliving our college years.

After becoming extra chilly, we went to a third place with an indoor area to sit. We took over that area for quite some time. We had some food, someone’s phone may or may not have been hijacked when they left it on the table.

A good time was had by all.
