We popped over to the lab this morning to get Ethan’s lab work. It took about an hour total which isn’t bad. I am thankful I can take my work with me. I still like to go because they ask Ethan questions like “which tests are we running today?” He doesn’t always know. Today was one of those days.

After lab work, we rushed home so he could meet with his therapist. I was happy he shared his thoughts about this new possibility of immune disease. He does feel better knowing he wasn’t doing anything wrong.

He shared a few more things and they talked through it. This lady is good because she asks questions without being therapist-y. It’s more conversational. I think Ethan responds better to that.

I also got the ultrasound report back from Ethan’s kidney ultrasound. There was a small kidney stone seen. Of course there is! So that’s going to be so fun for Ethan to look forward to when he is starting a new job in 10 days. It’s quite small but it’s there. We have not gotten communication from the doctor yet on next steps with that. I told Ethan to drink as much ch water as he can!

Moe had a good night. He spent the night in his crate. He thinks it is ok to mark on the inside of the house. He is learning that is not ok.

This morning, Ethan came downstairs and Moe seemed to accept him just fine. Paul came down stairs and Moe let Paul give him treats.

We went on several walks today with all the dogs, around the field. The three littles were off leash. Moe is very gentle with them. Even Jiminy is becoming a little less nervous around Moe. Ferguson got crabby once, which is pretty good for a dog like him.

Moe met a few men today and did not like them. He did a low and deep bark. He sounds intimidating. Based on the scarring on his face, ears and legs, something really bad happened to him. He was even wincing if I moved too quickly. He was bracing to be smacked. It makes me so angry at whomever hurt him.

Tonight Moe was very upset when Paul came home. He was barking and not pleased to see him. Paul was a little upset. A while later I made Paul take Moe on a walk. And then Paul sat in a chair outside. Moe was letting Paul pet him and was just fine.

We just need to go slow. Moe seems to have bonded well with myself and Ethan. We are both around him most. Tonight he was in his glory with all the belly rubs he was getting.

Jiminy is getting brave around Moe.

  1. Oh, sweet Moe. I absolutely hate that some people abuse and hurt animals. It's heartbreaking. Moe probably can't believe his luck that all the humans around him aren't going to hurt him. I love that he's bonded with you and Ethan. The pic of Ethan and Moe is the sweetest.

  2. Love the pic of Ethan and Mo! I think it is going to take a while for Mo to trust any male. I hope Paul understands and doesn't take it personally.

  3. Each day is progress! He is now bonding with Paul and Avery. He is a sweet dog, just scared/fearful. Once we get past that, he will be golden.
