Despite the fact I am in North Carolina, thankfully we are far enough east that we are out of the hurricane yuck!
Today was warm and sunny. The sky was bright blue and it was cheerful out.
Jason and I went out on his porch to have coffee. We were laughing and chatting. We got ourselves ready to go to breakfast.
He took me to a cute local farm restaurant known for their yummy chicken. When we arrived there with our hungry bellies, it was closed. They didn’t open for another hour.
Went to a mall that was close by and walked around there. Then Jason suggested this antique place at an old Mill close to the train tracks. YES!
When we walked in, it smelled like an old building. The floors were wood. I could picture them a a rich tone back in the day. Since they were walked all over everyday, they had lost their shine. The were worn down by many feet scuffing on them over the years.
There were cool antiques. There were also things that were “vintage” but couldn’t possibly be antiques because they were around when I was a teen….a short 10 years ago. Right?
I found something neat and different for Paul as well as one of Avery’s friends. My finds were exciting to me.
Jason and I both share a love for thrifting. We went to a few Goodwill’s in the area. Be both found a few good finds.
He took me to a man made lake near his place called Lake Norman. The houses around there were very upscale and no doubt their cost is in the millions.
We went into a community and parked at the boat launch. We watched someone back up their boat into the boat launch, failing miserably. Ugh! That is the worst. We joked about going to stand right near them and heckle them…but would never actually do that. I have backed the trailer up before and it does take skill.
We headed to ikea. I can get lost in that store. Then headed home.
We had such great conversation throughout the day. We ended the evening with watching a soccer game between Charlotte’s team and Miami. It was a pretty fun game to watch. We added our own colorful comments. I couldn’t remember anyone’s name. So I made up my own names.
What a fun day!
