My morning started off with me on the floor doing my stretches. Penny came over to “help”. As she walked by, she vomited in her mouth right in my ear. NOT ladylike.
A little while later I was moving my portable desk. I bumped my coffee off and it spilled everywhere. It was in one of my prized coffee mugs. I was so thankful that it didn’t break.
As I cleaned up that mess, I thought about how it sucked that I committed coffee abuse, but thought about how sad I would have been if the mug had broke. I think I would be devastated. So my morning was actually pretty good. I will think about my luck tomorrow when I am drinking out of my mug.
My work schedule was crazy today. Lots of meetings.
We met our counter part with the new company, the-new recruiting team. At some point we will be merged together as one big team. We were told about some leadership changes and had to introduce ourselves. I was thrilled that our team is still intact.
We had to talk about ourselves. 🤮. I don’t know these people and can’t show my crazy right off the bat. I had a subdued introduction with a boring “fun fact” about myself which was about our camp in the 1000 islands where it is suspected where the 1000 salad dressing came from. Everyone on the team has never heard of such a place in NY. I didn’t want to lead with that I met Paul on a blind date and vomited in his bed because I had too much to drink when I was 18. It just didn’t seem appropriate.
At another one of our meetings, part of our team meeting today was taken up with the FUN committee. Myself and two others make up this committee. We planned 3 activities. The first one was such a hit that we didn’t even get to the other two. I enjoyed it. It gives people a chance to bond a little.
Avery went off to her friend’s house for couple days. She will be home on Saturday. I am excited that my nephew will be visiting. I have his room all ready and cozy.
Ethan seemed to have a good day. He spent time playing a video game in his room this evening. He always comes down before he goes to bed. Typically Jiminy is asleep. Ethan will say “Jim, you want to go to bed?” Jiminy pops up and will follow him upstairs. I love watching that little routine.
Sarah came to visit for a few minutes after her shift at a local vet hospital. We exchanged our Christmas gifts. It is always something small, meaningful and induces a smile. The gift she game me can be displayed all year and I will see it everyday. ❤️
I have another busy day at work but I intend to get lots done tomorrow.
