12/28/24

I started my day off with bloodwork. What an awful time of year to have my blood drawn. My diet has been high in fats and not indicative of my normal diet. What a rookie move to schedule my annual wellness exam right after Christmas.

We spent the day at our in-laws visiting with family. We went to the Pittsford Dairy and got some of their delicious ice cream! Jiminy came too. He was the only dog that traveled with us. Don’t tell the other dogs.

We got to visit with the neighborhood which is an extended version of family. The game was on in one room. Conversations were being had.

At one point I just stopped and listened to the different conversations going on. This group was discussing sports. That group was discussing food. The 5 year old was busy walking around doing 5 year old things. Everything he did was cute. The group I was in, was sharing embarrassing diarrhea stories of Paul and his brother. (The group I was in was laughing A LOT).

This type of familiarity is so comforting. I realized how rich we were. Rich in family. Anyone in this group could be counted on to help in any sort of situation. Not all families have this type of support.

As the football game ended and visiting came to a close, we said our goodbyes. Another great visit in the books.

As we drove home, we saw someone in a vehicle weaving in and out of traffic. Yikes. We stayed away from them.

The dogs had been locked in their crates all day and needed to get out, stretch their legs and eat.  Moe went bonkers. He was fed and was running around the house like a crazy man.

There was no way we could have him back in his crate for the night. Up to bed he came. He tore up and down the stairs a few times, was running sideways on the couch (which he isn’t even allowed on) and back up the stairs onto our bed. He promptly laid down perpendicular to how I was laying. I am going to regret this decision, I can tell.
