9/25/26

today was chilly in the morning. It didn’t stop me from sitting and chatting with our shoreline neighbors sipping coffee. We were having a nice chat and lost tract of time. I was a little late to sign into work. Woops!

It was chilly in the camper. The heat was on. Jiminy needed his winter jacket on.

I got the call from the heart team today. Ethan stayed true to his oddity and is not in rejection. Yay!

Ethan’s heart team is on the ball. I get so much information from them. We are still waiting on the mmdx test and those will come next week.

He also is getting another Prospera test done to see what the results are. That is the test that looks for donor DNA. That was the test with elevated levels that started all of this.

I connected with the kidney team to set up a kidney biopsy. His doctor has done more research and decided that with the information they have, we do not need to move forward with a kidney biopsy.

While this is good news, I did feel cautious and asked for more clarity about this decision. I sent over some follow up questions just to make sure.

While this seems like good news, I wanted more clarity on how this decision was made.

I received a very vague and frustrating answer which is quite typical from Ethan’s kidney doctor. Thanks for nothing lady. Why is she the way that she is? What changed from the other day?

The best I can interpret and with my own digging for answers, the kidney team receives the result with a reference range.

The reference range, along with Ethan’s blood tests are used to determine in the decision not to move forward. The heart reference range is different from what the kidney team looks at to determine if biopsy is necessary.

The kidney requires less rejection coverage than the heart. With Ethan’s blood tests holding steady, It appears Ethan actually is in the clear.

This is even better than we expected. YaaaaaHoooooo! Again, Ethan is over here just doing his own thing and not behaving medically. It’s actuall perfect this time! His neck feels back to normal.

After dinner, Paul and I took the jet ski’s out for a farewell ride for the season. It was chilly. Paul managed to send a wall of water over to me and soak me. I then teased him for the rest of the evening about how could he do that to his precious wife.

We had a fire and watched the sun set….so early. It’s weird, 2 months ago we had day light for so much longer. When the sun sets now, it feels like 10:00 pm….but then it is actually 7:45 pm.

Moe sat out at the fire until he decided he needed to go to bed.

It was a pretty night. I have not seen sun sets as beautiful as at our little spot.
