8/7/24

Paul did great today. He was a little nervous because he has never had a sedated procedure or anesthesia before. I played some relaxing music on the way to hopefully help his nerves. Grateful Dead -Knocking on Heaven’s Door came on. To lighten the mood, I changed the chorus to “Knock, knock, knocking on Paul’s back door.” Paul was not impressed by my musical genius.

Of course, in the waiting room he ran into someone he knew from college, a fraternity brother in fact. Of all the places….

After the procedure I was baby sitting groggy Paul. The doctor came in and I asked him if he found Paul’s head while he was in there. He said “no” and groggy Paul said “well apparently it’s still up there then.” He has no memory of this.

The nurse gave him a choice of cheese crackers or peanut butter crackers. After much thinking he said “yes, I will have crackers.” I asked her for the peanut butter ones. He LOVED them!

I had pizza waiting in the car for him when he was done. He chowed down and said it was SO good! He came home and got on his computer to “work”. I cautioned him multiple times to just wait a little bit. He got on his computer but fell asleep before he could send any crazy nonsense emails.

He was feeling better in the evening and did some work outside.

I heard from the transplant team regarding some questions about the echo report. They put my nerves at rest a little bit. While we don’t know what we are up against, we will have more details in a few weeks and deal with it then.

Each day I work a bit with Mossimo. He is trained to the Invisible fence for the most park. He still runs through the one back corner that we use to access the field for walks. The other dogs have gotten the hang of when they can and can NOT go through that spot. Moe has not mastered this yet and has been taking himself for walks in the field.

Later this evening I mowed the field. We are supposed to get rain, so I wanted to be prepared. It was getting a bit lengthy any way.
