6/12/25

Jiminy did not have any seizures today. He and his two small friends go to the vet for their vaccines tomorrow. Their wonderful and amazing, Jiminy saving vet!

I worked outside the majority of the day. It was beautiful out. I sat out front for a while and then stood at the table for a bit, out back.

We are building a barn on the property that we own next to us. It will have a living quarters as well as a garage. Ethan is going to live there. He will have his own space, but be right next door in case he has any medical issues. It gives him freedom, but keeps him close. It’s a win win!

We have been in the process of setting that up, getting the proper permits, planning and more. Today the trusses were delivered. It is the first real piece that we can lay eyes on, to know that this is actually happening.

Ethan has been very reluctant to talk about this. He feels like whenever he looks forward to something, there tends to be an issue and he is let down when things do not come to fruition.

He does not want to get excited about it, because he will be so upset if something delays the project. He has become very protective of his feelings and we can all understand why.

The truck that was delivering the trusses could not get onto our property. They drove onto the neighbors property. Because I was working outside, I saw this happening. I jogged over to let this guy know he was making a mistake. It was kind of a far jog, and I am out of shape.

Just as I got up to the truck, I saw the neighbor (whom I have not met before….we don’t want to rush into things…we have only lived there for 18 years) flagging down the driver as well.

I told the driver that he was not on our property. He had gotten instructions from the building company to drop the trusses in that location. Our neighbor, Jack, said we could leave them there and he wouldn’t care.

The driver and myself went for a walk so I could show him our property lines but also assess the access points as we have a large and steep ditch spanning across the front of the property. Ideally they should be on our property.

The driver confirmed that he would not be able to access our land with the weight of the vehicle, pitch of the ditch and wetness of the ground.

We waived Jack down and let him know what the situation was. Jack agreed that we could keep the trusses on his land. I set out the expectation that we were hoping the project will be done by mid fall.

Jack was delightful. I told Paul that we need to get this guy a gift card for being so neighborly to people he has never met before. He is doing us a huge favor. He makes us want to be better neighbors.

I had all the dogs out today. Penny kept having to go in the house because she is a loudmouth and kept barking at nothing. We don’t want to be THOSE people with the loud and barking dog.

My coworkers were sleeping on the job today.

What a goof Moe was. He was sleeping with his back legs extended.

Jiminy is still wearing his seizure bells. I made his “collar” out of a pipe cleaner and Christmas bells. Ha! I should have been an engineer.

This evening I went to get groceries. Avery met me at Walmart, I enjoy having her close.

Paul and I took the dogs for a walk. Moe went off the path and likely started chasing something. He wasn’t coming but was in thick and dense trees and vegetation. Paul got pissed immediately which I found amusing. I was not helpful laughing at him.

Luckily, the tracking device let me see where he was. After calling him and calling him, I changed my location and he was able to finally escape. He was dirty and grass stained. He even had grass stains on his face. He ended up earning a hose bath. He was so hot and exhausted from running that he really didn’t care.

He went in the house and went right in his crate and laid right down.

That was enough excitement for one day.

Happy birthday Heather!!!!!❤️
