At breakfast this morning, I thought of a fun game to play with people. I was going to walk up to them and compliment them on the most obscure thing.
“I really like your eyelids” or “you have colorful shoelaces” the rules are, you say it with a straight face and then just walk away to see what their reaction will be.
Maybe the idea of the game was actually funnier than the game itself.
We got to go on a tour of the dorm Heather and I stayed in at one point in our college careers. They changed the color of one wall in each room. Other than that, they were basically the same.
Heather and I got a tour of campus in a golf cart. It was fun to see everything.
The afternoon was spent doing a cornhole tournament. Heather and I were the “cheerleaders” but we didn’t actually cheer for anyone because we got busy just chatting.
Heather and I met one of the founding members of our sorority. She was delightful. We have a tentative dinner date for later this summer. She lives near our camp. We buzzed from group to group. We took breaks from crowds and regrouped.
The alumni team is very thoughtful and I did connect to see if I can be on an alumni panel and assist with career advisement. I will get an email on Monday.
We had a wonderful dinner. Yum.
We went over to the fraternity house for the evening. Just like in the old days. Heather and I a year ago, left little notes all over for the active members. They were inappropriate notes. Some were discovered and proudly on display.
They may or may not have gotten ducked. It will give the young men that live there currently, something to discover.
The cops pulled someone over right in front of the house. Everyone got nervous that the cops “were here.”
This used to happen when we were in school. People would scatter and hide. The music would be turned off. “No officer, no underage drinking here.”
Murmurings of “the cops are here” spread like wildfire. But here is the thing…we actually weren’t doing anything illegal this time. They just pulled someone over.
We walked home and called it a day. A very successful weekend.
