We woke up early and were on the road by 5:30 am. We were both struggling as we were tired and had not had coffee. I also didn’t feel so hot. Scratchy throat. Congestion. Foggy brain…staring off for god knows how long…then asking myself “what are you supposed to be doing?”
I was struggling to keep my eyes open which is not like me. I went to bed early. We rode in silence to get coffee.
We stopped at a gas station to grab the coffee that was going to be magical and solve my grogginess. When I went to pay, I realized I did have any of my cards. Not magical at all.
This included my license, my insurance care, AAA card, library card…odd cards to steal. Is someone going to check out a bunch of books under my name?
I went through the pockets of my purse while the cashier was watching. Paul didn’t have his wallet in the store, so I sent him out to the car to get it. There was nothing in the pockets of my purse.
I apologized to the cashier lady and told her that this is why we needed the coffee. I wasn’t equipped to solve a mystery yet. She wished us well and said “I hope your day gets better.” That was nice. I hoped it did too.
When did I lose them? I didn’t remember having them out at any place of business. Crap! Who would steal my insurance card?
I had to retrace my steps and remember if I hid them or lost them? I couldn’t remember my purse being out of my sight OR me removing them from my purse.
I unpacked all my bags when we got home. Nothing! I checked my accounts for odd charges. Nothing. Well…that is good.
I gave it a rest because I had to work. It was in the back of my mind. Would I have taken them out of my purse so I didn’t “lose” them? Did they fall behind a piece of furniture? This didn’t seem like something I would do.
After work, I rechecked all the luggage. I rechecked my purse pockets, found them! I had tucked them in a pocket in my purse that had a zipper. This would make them more difficult to steal. Ugh! Of course I would do this.
I was glad I found them. This is totally something I would do…rather than remove all the cards. I must have been so groggy this morning, that I “man looked” in my purse (sorry guys…maybe it is just Paul that doesn’t do a great job of looking).
Phew! Mystery solved. I still was feeling crappy so I took a nap with Penny and Jiminy on the couch. I needed that.
The dogs were getting gamey so everyone got a bath tonight and fresh bedding. The floors were vacuumed and mopped. That was all I could muster and I am going to bed early.
