wow! I woke up extra dumb today. It’s a “lack of sleep” hangover. I made it through yesterday but today….I needed coffee stat and hoped like hell I could become somewhat functional.

I followed Ethan to work to park his car there. The plan was to condense vehicles and pay hospital parking for one vehicle.

On our way to drop off Ethan’s car, Ethan tried to straddle a dead, gross and bloated raccoon with his car. There was a car in the other lane so he couldn’t swerve. His tailpipe hit the raccoon and sent it swirling and twirling behind him. I think I barfed in my mouth. Ugh! Gross! Luckily it didn’t explode. 🤮

As I was following him, some guy waiting to pull out, honked at Ethan and gave him a thumbs up for his super Supra. He said he gets a lot of people appreciating his vintage ride.

We got to the hospital on time. Parking at Strong Hospital is a bit of a disaster. We got the farthest away parking spot ever. I told Ethan walking to the hospital counted as his exercise today. We almost had to call an uber to get to the main entrance! Ha!

The waiting room had an over powering smell of bandaids. Medical offices often smell like bandaids to me. Damn super nose! Ethan smelled nothing. He clearly didn’t get my nose. I think my super smell super power is getting stronger. I am at bloodhound level.

We saw our nurse (Ethan’s nurse) that has been working with us for the past few years. She is amazing. I grabbed one of those cards you fill out when you receive great service. I plan to fill it out to recognize her for being amazing!

As I was sitting in the waiting room, someone had their radio app on their phone playing for everyone to listen to. My perimenopause annoyance/anger was in full swing as I quietly stewed at their stupidity. I kept telling myself I should feel sorry for them because they were clearly unaware that their actions were quite rude and idiotic.

I did execute an entire conversation in my head full of swear words while I assessed the situation. Fantasizing about saying things like “Are you this stupid in every other facet of your life, or is this an isolated moment of being a douchebag?”. “There are these cool things called ear buds that are fairly inexpensive. I recommend you get a pair.” “If I were your Mom, I would be completely disappointed in you due to your selfish choices right now!”

I asked myself what the intent of those sentences would be and what I expected the outcome to be. The intent was just to be mean and came from a place of anger. The expectation is clearly beyond this person’s capabilities as demonstrated in real time! So my choice was to ignore it and be thankful that I was far more considerate quietly working.

If my doctor asks me if I exercise regularly, my answer will be “Several times a day I exercises self control and emotional intelligence.” If she gives me crap about that….I will remind her that I am exercising as we speak! Then politely smile and flash her my dimples. The ones on my face. The other ones I keep hidden and are there because I don’t really like physical exercise. Ha!

I have been in rare form all day!

I did get a message that there was a $900 charge on my credit card. It wasn’t me or anyone that lives in our house. I marked it as fraudulent and cancelled the card. Unfortunately this card has all of our reoccurring charges on it. So having to go through those one by one will be super fun and so convenient for me. *Sarcasm*

The bright side is they caught it before it escalated into something worse. I am very grateful for that. That in itself makes all the extra work worthwhile.

I strongly dislike dis-honest people/thieves.

We are experiencing a significant impact from the Canadian wildfires. Our air quality is horrible, there was ash on our cars this morning and the sun looks weird. It was hazy and there is a smokey smell.

This is the weird looking sun.

Ethan was in a pleasant mood. I was thankful for that. I don’t do much talking at these appointments so that he can answer all the questions. He has become quite good at asking deep and thoughtful questions.

His cholesterol is quite high. He has to go on a third medication to control it. Unfortunately it is an injection. His diet is pretty healthy. I did pick up more fruits and Greek yogurt to make smoothies so he can eat that instead of ice cream.

Luckily the injection is under the skin and is only given once every 14 days. It is with a tiny needle. It shouldn’t be too bad.

Dario was released from the hospital. He is pretty bummed his gall bladder acted up. He is thinking he did something wrong. He thinks he is Superman. He kind of is!

Paul spent the day at the hospital and assisted with getting them home and settled. I ordered Instacart for them. That is so convenient.

I am glad tomorrow is Friday! It’s been quite a busy week.
