Paul set up my bird feeder that alerts me when birds are eating. The birds have all told their friends about it and I have been enjoying them feasting on the open buffet we provided for them.
Mama killdeer was on the road I walk the dogs on, with her babies this morning. She began squawking at me as soon as we started up the road. I cut the walk short so that I wouldn’t stress her out.
Paul was worried last night because he asked me if I locked the camper door. I was in bed and had forgotten to lock the door.
“No” I said.
“What if someone tries to get in while you’re sleeping.”
“I am not going to get up at this point! I assure you that Moe will not let that happen.”
If someone was dumb enough to try to break into the camper with 4 dogs, they deserve the dog attacks they would receive. Survival of the fittest!
Also, MY first line of defense is biting. It causes a nasty infection and then dental records can be used to match the wound up to my teeth. I will be able to find the dummy and press charges….after they heal from the systemic infection they probably won’t I’ll get. Ha!
Moe is a protector. Even if I am outside he is always guarding!

As I was sitting outside in the quiet working this morning, the goose family swam by. We have a line up on our ramp that detours them. We don’t want goose poop all over. Yuck!

As they got closer to the neighbors house, I heard her yelling at them.
“Go! Get out of here! Not today geese!” She threatened. She was clapping at them.
She went and got some sort of whistle. She was blowing it at them. I chuckled to myself thinking I wonder if that is her rape whistle?
It reminded me of my sister in law’s war with the geese in her pond. She was out with a sheet waving it around and dancing throughout her backyard to scare them away. I am sure that wasn’t exactly what happened.
When she told me, I imagined her as a graceful ballerina twirling and jumping through the backyard with the sheet as her prop. Her neighbors were likely sipping their coffee and chuckling at her thinking she had lost her mind.
Stupid geese. They are fascinating to watch but quite filthy pooping machines.
After work I took the pooches for a long walk. Ferguson was tired. He is old. He got to uber back to camp. During his ride in my arms, he fell asleep. Be kind to the elderly!
I took Moe in the lake and gave him a bath. I lathered him up and took him into the deeper water (luring with treats).
I really enjoyed the rhythmic waves hitting the boat ramp. It was so peaceful. There was no traffic noise. Just the breeze, the birds and the water gently making a delightful lake sound.
