today was perfect weather. Warm, humid, slight breeze. The sun was shining down smiling on us.
Avery, Kendall and I rode the mile down the road to the cottage bakery. A lady has her she she’d set up with all her baked goods. Avery combed through what they had and decided on a peanut butter scone as her birthday treat.
I went out on the boat. I totally enjoy the boat ride and anchoring by the small island across from us. I like the stillness of the area. Diane brought her double tube and let me float with her for at least a half hour.
While I was gone, Avery and Kendall drove to Watertown for a bit.
When they returned, the wind picked up a little but not bad. Avery and I spent the afternoon tethered to the dock just floating peacefully in the water sitting in the double tube. Kendall sat on the dock and the three of us chatted and giggled at life.
The three boys came out on the dock with their remote control boats. Those boats were zooming around. We were pretending what it would have been like if the boats and waves were on an equal scale for size. It would be a terrible boat ride nonetheless.
We were also laughing at Paul for just being Paul. He is so funny.
Avery wanted grilled chicken for her birthday dinner. I made some cheesy potato’s and roasted vegetables.
After dinner, Paul and I took a jet ski around. We cruised the coastline looking at the houses, speeding up and slowing down.
We found a quiet spot to part and have an adult beverage. We chatted about a few things. Paul and I watched seagulls diving for dinner. They were fun to watch. We were talking for them and laughing at our own stupid jokes.
Paul got into the Natty Daddy’s with Rick in honor of Andy’s birthday. Both were having a slurring conversation at the fire. Avery, Kendall and I were laughing at them.
We were glad that Ethan and Avery were having fun with their friends. It is so good to hear their belly laughs. It is a good group of kids.
