Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️ Today is Paul’s brother, Darren’s, birthday. Happy birthday Darren!
Today is also my dad’s birthday. He would have been 79 today. Sadly, he didn’t make it past 48.
Ethan drove the Supra to work today. He was so happy. He returned home about 40 minutes later. Oh no! What happened? Apparently his work had lost power and they were sending everyone home. Jiminy was so excited!
Ethan spent part of the day hanging out with his friends playing games virtually with them. They can talk to one another during these games. Jiminy was by his side.
We had Ethan’s therapy appointment and we talked about how sometimes Ethan is avoidant when there is a sudden change in the plan or if he visits with certain people. For example, his sister came home from college a few weekends ago. She didn’t tell him she was coming. When she showed up, it triggered anger in him.
These incidents were happening prior to Ethan’s transplant but they are much more pronounced. He recognizes that he doesn’t act correctly, but doesn’t feel like he can control himself when it is happening and his reaction becomes impetulant. Ethan’s homework was to figure out if there is a trigger to these behavioral episodes. He also needed to come up with solutions to cope. Ethan’s therapist was also going to figure out some solutions to try.
I finished my day off with my virtual presentation at a tech school in Texas. I gave the class a few laughs. They even seemed engaged and participated. Win!
I have been really pleased with some new recipe’s I have tried. Tonight I made a roux with heavy whipping cream, cooking wine, spinach and tomato’s. I added a rice and quinoa pasta and meatballs. The only sodium was in the meatballs and minimal at that. Ethan could control the amount of “veggies” he had with his meal.
It is getting a bit easier to have tasty food with the new ideas I have discovered.
I took Moe out to work on a few things for class on Thursday. He did alright but we really need to fine tune some things. I know it is my delivery. I wish I had someone there giving feedback in the moment.
Moe has sit and stay down really well. He will stay put until released, even if I put hotdog on the ground. What a good boy. Except he rushed so fast to the treat he scuffed his nose and was bleeding all over. Poor guy!
that roux sounds delicious! I'll have to try it!
