Paul has poison ivy. He gets it every year. It is usually bad and carries on for weeks. He tries so hard to avoid it. He showers after working outside. He wears long sleeves. He avoids touching it.
His eye is swollen and he is pissed about starting vacation with it. I can’t blame him.
Avery did part of the driving so I could finish some things for work on my computer. We had Myself, Avery, Kendall, and 4 excited dogs who love riding in the car to “go camping”. At the half way point, we switched and I took over. We may have picked up some food too. Yum.
I started driving and about 2 minutes in we hit a spot where I had to merge with other traffic. I put my blinker on, saw a gap in the traffic so I couldn’t scoot over and the truck I was merging in front of, sped up immediately so I couldn’t get over. It was a couple in their 60’s.
I remained in my lane and had to break as the road was coming to an end and scoot over quickly as they passed. I said out loud “I hope the 0.7 seconds that may have saved you was worth it.”
They chose to do the opposite of what I would do and that is fine. They remained in front of me for a few miles. I didn’t tailgate. I wasn’t feeling full of rage or anything over the situation. I figured they were jerks because they didn’t let me merge, but I was enjoying the music and eating French fries.
They went to turn left and I looked over and the woman had a scowl on her face and was giving me the finger. It had emotion behind it. I waved and smiled. Wow! I really pissed her off by trying to merge using my blinker. Next time I won’t do anything different. I thought about how I must have completely ruined her night. She was so angry about it. Some people!
We arrived at camp. I had boat loads of groceries. What ever we don’t use, we can use another time. I have fruits, veggies and lots of yummy snacks, dips, ingrediants for side dishes, meats and more.
I accidentally forgot the Stromboli I spent so much time making yesterday. Luckily it is in the freezer so we can enjoy it some other time.
Avery and Kendall made their bed (it’s a queen). This is glamping at its finest. Kendal is used to roughing it with their dad in a tent.
We unpacked and called it a day!
Welcome. Enjoy!
