I got a call today from the Transplant center (cardiac). It was Ethan’s NP. We really like her. She and Ethan’s doctor were chatting about him and she shared how Ethan’s kidney values took a huge nose dive when they switched his cholesterol medication.
She shared with him how we weren’t surprised and how Ethan has such wonky reactions to things. She reiterated how Ethan just doesn’t follow the medical rules.
After some brainstorming, Ethan’s doctor wants Ethan to get more genetic testing done. Specifically to look at his FLNC variant.
I am not really a whiz with genetic testing, but this variant can give them more information on his genetics to help them guide Ethan’s care for the future as well as be able to help give them more information.
He had this testing done 6 years ago. At that time it was determined that he was an anomaly and that his heart issues were not passed along through family genetics. In the past 6 years they have made advancements that help give the doctors information to help long term care.
It involves a blood test and a cheek swab. Pretty easy! The genetics office will calling me within a week or so to get that scheduled. I am all for collecting more information.
Ethan really gives them a run for their money and keeps them on their toes. No one believes us when we tell them until Ethan proves he doesn’t follow the rules.
Of course Ethan wasn’t too pleased that he will have to go to another appointment.
I was busy today. Lots of talking and interviewing. I am trying to get as much done as I can before I am out of work for a few days. I took a comp day next week which will be nice.
I started packing a little bit for my trip. Sarah was relieved when I told her I would be home Wednesday night and she could spend the night. 😊. Her accepting this position has been so nice for ME! Is that selfish?
The electric company came to install a smart meter and they knocked on the door. Moe was barking his deep husky bark. Penny was also barking her brains out. Ferguson’s elderly bark was not that loud, but he was talking smack to this person. Then there was Jiminy.
He was running around in circles and would let out this loud high pitched ridiculous bark like every 30 seconds.
I didn’t answer the door. I was on a call and had to vacate upstairs and shut the door. I am not sure if my response would have been different if I wasn’t on a call. Ha!
Avery stood me up for exercise tonight, so I did my portion alone, which is fine. I sent her a video of me doing mock push ups. I am sure she totally enjoyed it.
Decline that smart meter anyway. We did.
