Ethan’s finger was so red and sore this morning. I told him to keep an eye on the redness. If it started to grow it could indicate infection is traveling and we would need to go to urgent care.

He, without direction, drew a line on his finger so he could keep an eye on it. I was so proud of him for doing that. Such a small gesture speaks volumes for me. He is taking his healthcare seriously. He has also seen me do this in the past with cat bites that have happened at work.

His finger kept him from sleeping well due to the throbbing. He has been taking Tylenol and that keeps things at bay.

I was watching reels on my phone and came across a husband and wife that were talking about how their brains work. She has a narrator in her brain that will verbalize everything. He didn’t have a narrator and didn’t hear a voice, but processed things in pictures.

Paul wasn’t home at all yesterday as he goes to work, then to bowling, and arrives home after I got to bed. I plan to bring it up over the next few days to see where Paul and Ethan fall.

I definitely have a narrator. My narrator amuses me and makes funny comments. Sometimes they are things you shouldn’t say out loud. My narrator tries to keep me organized. It is actually in my voice. It’s not creepy though. It’s only one voice. The voice seems stable for the most part, so I think it’s ok to be hearing it.

My narrator and I have sort of have constant discussions. If I am thinking about something, my narrator will list off pro’s and cons. If I worry about something, my narrator tries to calm the feelings of tension. It says things like “it’s going to work out the way it is supposed to.”

Sometimes my narrator is a bully. “You dumb ass, why did you do that?” It will say when I have done something stupid. It’s ok, we have an understanding that sometimes I CAN be a dumbass. I have had to tell my narrator to stop bullying me too. I assume this is normal for everyone else, right? Unless you think in pictures, which fascinates me a little.

Avery is getting into the swing of things at school. She also started a new medication that has been throwing her curve balls. Poor kid.

My bright spot was our fireplace today. It kept me warm. It kept the dogs warm. Plus, my heart melts when I walk around the corner and see a pile of dogs on the dog bed. Here is one moment I captured.

I also have a narrator and in my voice. My narrator speaks out loud often, not just in my head. I am alone a lot and I talk to myself.
