Tuesday morning, there was a mass break in of cars at Avery’s apartment complex. Avery’s car was “hit” by robbers.
The lady at the apartment complex called me. I saw her name pop up on my phone and answered immediately. She let me know what was happening and that she was unable to reach Avery. She told me that she suspected Avery’s car was left with the door open and suggested she do an inventory of her things, and call the police if anything was stolen or damaged. She didn’t want to touch anything.
I was able to connect with Avery. She went out and found her door wide open. Nothing was missing except $25. She kept that in her car “just in case”. There was no damage.
She did share that it felt violating that people were just going through her stuff. We were very grateful that the cost of this robbery was only $25. The thieves could have smashed windows, broken locks and really screwed up the cars.
45 cars were hit in the complex keeping the police very busy I am sure. It was and is another reminder to keep your important things in your house….where your dogs will tear ass into a stranger that tries to get in (except Jiminy and Penny).
On a different topic, I have been changing my tarts for my tart warmer to pump Christmas into the air. I enjoy the pine tree or cinnamon.
Recently I have discovered a different, subtle and pleasant smell. I almost didn’t smell it because I thought it might be a trick. Like the time, very early on in our relationship Paul had me smell his pants to determine if they were clean or dirty. They were NOT clean. I learned my lesson!
When I first saw it, my mind immediately went to that this would smell like the seat of grandpa’s chair. I am not interested in having that smell all day long. I paused. Surely they can’t have a fart scented wax tart, I thought!
I decided to explore the smell fully aware that the consequences could be as detrimental as Paul’s pants situation….or shit-uation.
I was pleasantly surprised and bought two. I have been rotating it into my daily smells.
I called Saturday 12/6/25 for a reservation at Genesee Brewing company. I was told after giving the time, number in my party (7), my phone number and all the typical reservation, the lady repeats it back to me.
“Yes that is correct.” I said.
“Ok great. Well a manager will call you then.” She says
I paused. That seems weird.
“Why? Why is the manager going to call?”
“To make the reservation.” She stated…like duh!
I thought I just made the reservation. But whatever, I will follow their protocol.
“If the manager doesn’t call you by Tuesday, please call us back.”
Wednesday Morning: - no call received over the past 4 days.
I called and explained the situation and asked for an update.
The lady pauses and says “I don’t have that reservation booked. Let me talk to my manager and see what we can make work. I will call you back.”
This lady went on to share that some of the managers that work there just don’t call people back. The manager that is working right now is pretty responsive so she was pretty sure that she would call me back fairly quickly.
What? Who does business like this? Am I being Punked?
She calls back shortly.
“We can’t do the time you would like but we can do an hour later. Will that work?”
I just don’t like eating late. I don’t like it! It is beneficial to all involved that I don’t arrive Hangry. It is really my service to the public to eat at a decent hour.
“No”. I told her I would call back with an updated reservation time. I have no plans to call back either.
We have decided to alter our plans and spend our money someplace else that has a more thoughtful approach to customer service. I think our alternate plans were just something that was meant to be…..so that works.

WOW! Good to know. Customer service is a rare item these days~
