We hosted our last family Christmas party. It went smooth and was easy. I ordered subs and we had potato chips, crock pot Mac and cheese with pie and ice cream for dessert. It was quite a feast!

I had my new Ninja running with Ginger ale and cranberry juice in it. I put some Moscato Di Asti in mine…it was delicious!

We played a power point word jumble and trivia game that I made. It was fun and educational. We learned about different Christmas traditions in other countries and how they originated.

After our guests left, we picked up and had a leisurely evening. I was annoying Paul with questions. I had to ask a lot of questions due to the vagueness of his answers. Typical Paul!

I started cleaning up Christmas decorations. Take the ornaments off the tree. I like the ambient light from the tree in the morning, so it may stay up for a few more days….ornament-less.

Normally we wait until we are into the new year. I have been trying to think of an achievable New Year’s resolution. I could say exercise more or lose weight….but I wanted something achievable. I am kind of too lazy to do those things. Ha!

I have decided my New Year’s resolution is to work on my house’s organization. Much of it will come naturally when Ethan moves out.

I decided to start with Christmas decorations. Everything is in labeled bins and organized, but can I downsize? Can I tweak the organization? Yes!

I found ornament organizers at the store. I am going to go through my storage bins and get rid of the ornament packaging. This will at least remove 2-3 bins.

My plans tomorrow are to organize my refrigerator. I have some vegetables I need to make into ice cubes so I can add them to recipes in the future. That way they don’t go bad!

Organize in general! I want to make life in our basement less of a hoarding situation and more of a useful space.

My Mom inspired this resolution as she and Gene have been organizing and downsizing for the past several months.

I smell some donations that will be happening in my future! What is your resolution?

  1. How do you make vegetables in ice cubes? I am like you, trying to organize my home a bit better.

    1. I use silicone ice cube trays. I blend the veggies up, put them in ice cube trays and freeze them. Once they are frozen, I put them in a baggie. When I use them to cook, I just have to melt them. Crock pot chili is really easy. Toss a few onion ice cubes, pepper ice cubes and even tomato ice cubes.

I also freeze my herbs. I blend them with a small amount of oil. I use smaller ice cube trays for the herbs. TJ max has all sorts of ice cube trays. The silicone ones are the easiest for removal and they make big blocks.
