We went to the lab this morning. It was about an hour wait. I was grateful we are on an every 2 week lab visit instead of more frequently.
Ethan and I were sort of people watching. More observing of behavior. I am curious why people act the way they do.
As they were calling people back, some lady, named Judy, was sitting next to us. The lady calling out names had great projection in her voice.
“Judy!” The lab lady called. There was no answer. She paused and looked around the waiting area. There was no movement. The name just hung in the air.
“Is there a Judy in here?” She projected she looked everyone in the eye. Still no movement from Judy. Several seconds went by.
“Judy are you here?” She said again. Radio silence.
Then Judy pops out of her chair and hurriedly follows the lady back. So weird.
Ethan was called up to the window because he has so many standing blood orders they assume he can’t possibly need them all drawn. He does!
The lady at the window had him spell his last name 6 times. He was patient and kept repeating it. Yes, we have a LOT of vowels.
Afterward, Ethan and I ran some errands. We had a great talk about politics and keeping an open mind to both sides of the narrative and how to navigate political discussions when they become uncomfortable. Emotional intelligence is key.
Why aren’t we focusing more on this as a foundational building block for kids? I do think businesses should also incorporate trainings on emotional intelligence like they do sexual harassment training. That is just my two cents.
Ethan’s labs came back wonky, which led to a call to the pharmacy. I read an article (thanks to my sister in law, Julie) regarding rejection medication and how loosely they are able to follow FDA guidelines. I got the name of the company that makes his generic rejection medication and will share that with the team. Ugh! More tweaking to come.
Ethan was frustrated because he is doing all the right things and still his numbers just loom over him and he sees real threat around every corner.
We went to dinner with my in-laws. We went to a fancy restaurant. The food was great. The service was great! We had a little issue with meeting them, we were there and seated by 6. We called them at 6:15 with no answer. Where were they? Did something happen?
Nope, they gave their name and then sat in the waiting area and were waiting for us to arrive. We were already seated. It was discovered at 6:40. Woah! We were worried something bad had happened. Once we realized it, we were thankful they were safe and didn’t waste too much time worrying about the mixup.
Moe got his bath today and soooooo much hair came out. Dogs shed so much but don’t go bald.
Side note: Paul never mentioned the sign on the door about the “Hoist in use”.
Better notice that sign and get hoisted soon!
