4/4/26

Today was fun. I did some chores but also squeezed in brief fitness time.

I went to my Mom’s mid day. My brother was visiting for a few hours from Buffalo. We helped with a few things at their house and then had some apple pie and ice cream! Yum!

I went to Avery’s apartment to meet with Avery, Kendall and their friend. This friend has the gift of being able to communicate with people who have passed. Some people say they can do this and they are farce. Some people I believe can actually do it.

I have a fascination with this gift. I have my own theories of what happens after we die. I have developed these theories from reading articles, watching people who claim to have the gift and a healthy dose of “my brain fills in the blanks with no scientific reasoning”. I had so many questions for this young lady.

She answered them one by one and I was even more fascinated.

She did a “reading” where she is able to see pictures in her brain. She explained that she can see shadowy figures and they share their previous physical features. She can’t make out names or letters like other mediums can.

There was a female spirit that showed up. She had on lip stick, had short hair with a little curl to it, a little bit of a gruff voice and she was slightly bossy, pushing her way first.

This medium shared some things this person wanted me to know. She was sharing pictures of a big yard, long driveway and shared a few things about family members for us to guess who it was.

There was someone else that showed up but was too “shy” to talk. Then of course my dad came through. This young lady shared details about my dad that no one could have known, except a select few family members.

She said my dad got cracking up and almost wheezing he was laughing so hard, because I married an Italian. My dad wasn’t overly fond of Italians. He did share that he likes Paul. I was just telling my cousin last week that I thought my dad would have come around to liking Paul.

My dad shared events that happened in the hospital during his last days. That actually did happen. She could not have known these things. Neither could Avery to share with her ahead of time.

He has been watching over my mom and he said that the next chapter of her life is going to go well for her and Gene.

“He is now showing me soup” she said

What the heck?

“Soup?” I asked

“It looks green. It is green soup.” She said

She paused a moment and said “ohhhhhh…split pea soup and he is showing me little chunks of ham in it!” And then apparently my dad laughed.

I made split pea with small ham chinks a few weeks ago. Also, when I was little, I was home sick from school. My dad was eating green split pea soup. I asked for a taste. He told me I could have a taste but it was hot and I had to blow on the spoon to cool the soup down. He scooped a spoonful of soup and held it up for me to blow on.

I breathed out a concentrated forceful gust of air. All the soup was blown all over my dad’s shirt. Ha! I remember him laughing. I was a little embarrassed because I made a mess of his shirt. He talked/ giggled about that from time to time when he was alive and as I grew older.

All in all, I had a delightful time. This friend was wonderful to talk to. It was a cool experience. Whether you believe or not, it made for a fun few hours, sharing stories with the three of them about when I was younger.

When I arrived home, the men and I watched a show while I worked on a game for tomorrow’s Easter Lunch.  I hope it is fun for everyone.
