I woke up this morning and checked on Ethan. He said he slept through the night and felt well enough to go to work! Yay!
He stomach was still a little out of sorts but improving. The bland diet is helping. He continued with it all through today but is quite sick of it already.
More tests came back. Negative for the nasty viruses that transplant patients can get. Rejection medication numbers were within the range they want him to be. The swirling and twirling anxiety subsided for me.
Ethan is supposed to get an MRI next month with contrast. We are meeting with the nephrologist to see if that will be ok. Ethan’s GFR is down to 36. Normal is above 90. They stop giving contrast to patients with a GFR below 30. We are getting close. 😬
The MRI is to get specific images of his heart and will be important to have a baseline. So fingers crossed.
Ethan laid low after work. He ate his bland diet. He did participate in the conversation. He was even crackingPaul and I up.
Paul had to make a run to Avery’s apartment to check out her car. The check engine light came on. Paul suspected it was a tire pressure sensor. He took his scan tool over to help diagnose the issue.
When he got home he said in a very matter of fact tone.
“I figured out the problem with Avery’s car.”
“Was it the tire pressure sensor?” I asked.
“Nope!” He said.
I looked at him and he was just waiting for me to ask.
“What was it then?” I asked.
“Apparently the driver’s seat reached its fart capacity threshold.” He said.
I did chuckle at that. Such a dad joke. But it was clever, so I will give him credit for that. Avery would not be amused with his dad joke.
I went to the dentist. I saw my favorite hygienist. I have officially reached the age of needing a crown. I go in June to have that taken care of. It is unfortunate timing as all 4 dogs are getting their dental cleanings, vaccines and bloodwork done. I know it will be painfully expensive.
Dogs are an expensive hobby. Paul snowmobiles. I have dogs. We both picked expensive hobbies. But we can both appreciate the maintenance it takes keep the hobby going.
I looked at the calendar for the next several weeks. So many appointments coming up. Ugh!
Ethan is still dragging his feet on going to the dentist!
