As I was sitting at the hospital yesterday, I found myself curious as to how they can improve efficiencies. It took 20 minutes for someone to come up with a wheelchair for Dario. There has got to be a more efficient way.

I found myself coming up with a bonus system so that there is incentive for speediness. I was trying to structure this fake system similar to Uber. The more people you transport the higher your wage. But it also ties into the people’s score of how you do. If you talked about something inappropriate or are rude, the patient can deduct stars butting you in a different pay class.

Like I know anything about human hospitals, their payroll or anything. It was fun to think about it though. It’s very egocentric of me to think I could solve a problem that I am sure people with far more brains and specific supportive education are in charge of. Welcome to my brain.

Ethan and I arrived at the hospital for his appointment. It seems like I was just there yesterday! Because I literally WAS!

Ethan had his neurology appointment. He passed all his tests with flying colors. He is graduating to a video visit next year. We have the same plan, continue on antiseizure medication. Recommended to discontinue NEVER.

As we were talking, he asked me if I had any questions. One just popped up out of nowhere.

“When Ethan was on dialysis, his anti seizure medication was increased because the dialysis was diluting its efficacy. With Ethan’s declining kidney function, at what point will you want to know to adjust the dose of antiseizure medication?”

I asked this because dialysis acts as a way to eliminate chemicals from the body. As Ethan’s kidney function declines, his kidney will be struggling and could potentially lead to an overdose/toxicity situation. The kidneys filter the medication and if they don’t work properly it can effect how much is in his system.

The doctor pondered for a moment. He explained that they have to do a calculation to find the threshold for any adjustments. This question made the doctor show off his math skills. He has to calculate this threshold. He said we had a ways to go….good!

Our friends had a scheduled visit with a rescue group for a dog  they had seen online. Knowing what we went through to finally get Moe, I know the heartache of getting your hopes up.

The meet and greet went well and they were able to add the dog to their family.  I was so happy. At Ethan’s appointment I found out the news. The doctor had stepped out of the room for a moment and I read the text saying the dog was theirs.

I started to tear up. Then tears were streaming down my face. I was wiping them away as fast as I could so I didn’t look like a crazy person. Ha!

The doctor came back in the room with another doctor. Of course! Now there’s two! Great! …..Two witnesses to my crazy.

I was able to pull it together and hopefully was not detected. Ha!

Let’s circle back through. Our friends have been through the heartache of getting attached to a dog and having it go to another home. Devastating! They needed this nugget of joy in their life. Yay!!!!!! I like to see my friend’s happy.

Ethan has been sucked into my new show. It is nice to have on in the background while I work. Now I can’t watch it during the day. I have to wait until Ethan gets home. This is rather inconvenient.

I can save my strictly computer work for evenings though. Always a bright side.

Tonight Ethan was what I considered “lollygagging”. I turned the show on without him and he was flushed out of his room rather quickly. Ha! I do enjoy we are watching it together, laughing together and discussing the characters together.

The show is called Lucifer. The main character is nice eye candy and the show has equal parts romance, fight scenes, gunsire, danger, humor and friendship.

Poor Paul was stuck at work, working on my van. It really is giving him a hard time. He didn’t get home from work until 10 pm. What a long day for him.
