Ethan put in his 2 week notice of resignation at his current position. He is starting with a company that works with Tritium and helps create ways to store it. Ethan will be doing specialized welding.
This is the second kid in this house to be working with Tritium. This is what Avery was doing her research on this past summer.
I have never even heard of it before this summer, with Avery’s research project.
Ethan is pretty excited for the opportunity. It sort of presented itself to him. Someone he used to work with, his father works for this company. The previous coworker shared Ethan’s information with his dad. Networking at its finest.
Ethan was supposed to tell his manager about his resignation. He was nervous. I shared with him how nervous I had been about doing so throughout my career. It’s never fun. Even the one job I was so relieved to leave was difficult.
Paul is preparing for many projects this weekend. His goals are to do some trenching/ drainage control. He is putting in a pipe to divert water in a spot in our back yard and in the field. He rented a trench digger for tomorrow.
He also plans to clean the chimney. I was preparing to help by washing the fireplace glass, and cleaning it out. I opened the doors to the fire place and this little beast was sitting there.
A bat. I was a little apprehensive at first. All I needed was the chaos of this thing flying around the house and the dogs flipping out.
It was not breathing that I could see and I poked it with a stick. Dead. Stiff and even crunchy sounding. Eww!
I was a little sad as I briefly picture me and said bat as best friend forever. Me feeding it little snacks and letting it dangle off my finger. But the possibility of rabies loomed in the back of my mind. No thanks!
I left the bat there for Paul to see. Of course I took a picture of his reaction.
He looked like Julian from Trailer Park Boys with his wine glass in hand. He did the “is it alive” reaction as well. Awe poor bat.
We are ready to get some work done around the house. We have been goofing off all summer.
My friend shared an Iceland cruise she would like to do next summer and asked me if I wanted to join. The only thing holding me back was that I have several trips planned and I wasn’t sure I had the vacation time to take another week.
Turns out, I have more vacation time than I thought. Cool!!! I am in the “say yes” phase of my life. I diligently allocate money to my travel fund each paycheck. I will have the money saved up in time.
I started looking at the excursions on Iceland. Each port has something I would like to see or explore.
Lots going on in our house today.
