Sarah came over this evening. There was a lot of deep gut laughing about stuff that was not important.
She came in and shared that she had a difficult client and it made her think of one of the first times she had met me. We met by working at the same animal hospital at one point. We had a lot of fun during that short time and really clicked.
It was the early 2000’s. She said that some older man was in a room and he was mean to her. She exited the room quietly. She said she was crying and I greeted her in the hallway. We didn’t really know one another very well but she had shared which room this guy was in. I walked by the room to assess the man. I realized he had an oxygen tank and told her I was going to go knock the oxygen tank over so it exploded. That will teach him. (Of course I don’t do that).
I have no recollection of these events. But can confirm that I would have that thought about the oxygen tank if I felt someone was being mean. I am glad she remembered it because I made her feel better. Awe!
Sarah asked me if I saw an article about the lady with the skin that was so thin and brittle that when anything touched it or rubbed on it, her skin would fall off. Ugh! That seems awful. I immediately replied that I had not seen the article but have suddenly found much gratitude that I do not have that condition. You can ALWAYS find something to be thankful for. I am thankful my skin stays put!
I tried to talk Sarah into participating in going to Australia and volunteering at the baby kangaroo sanctuary for 3 weeks. They pay for your room and meals, in turn, you work 5 hours a day at the kangaroo sanctuary. Jobs included feeding and medicating the kangaroos, cleaning the cages, making sure that babies were pampered appropriately, and releasing them to the wild (and hoping they would jump in my purse to smuggle back home. Sign me up! They could make money by charging people to do this. I would pay for this experience.
Sarah pointed out there are spiders the size of houses in Australia. That is a hard no for her and she almost vomited when we found a picture of one. I will have to find someone else to volunteer to feed that baby kangaroos with a bottle. Maybe this will be a retirement project for me some day!
Finally we saw some progress with the building next door. Insulation went up today. Yay!!
