Paul had his cardiac check up today. When Ethan was born and his initial heart defect was discovered, he had some genetic testing done. Paul and myself as well as our siblings were encouraged to get checked as well. No one had any precursors to Shone’s Syndrome, Ethan’s diagnosed heart condition. But the cardiologist did find an enlarged spot on Paul’s aorta. He has been going to routine visits ever since. Long ago I told Paul that he can’t have any heart conditions because Ethan already claimed that.
Paul goes for an echo in a few weeks. They will measure the enlarged area and see if it is growing larger.
Paul’s back was hurting. Didn’t he get the memo that I have the bad back? He needs to find another ailment! I have already claimed that one. Geez Paul, always a copy cat!
I had him do some of my back stretches and they did help him feel better. Yay!
I had a situation at work where someone who should know better approved something that is completely against the rules. To the point where when I saw it, immediate red flags went up and I began questioning.
Turns out, this person just stopped looking at stuff that was sent to them and was blindly just approving things because that is faster. Just Willy Nilly. Not thinking of how it could impact others. So much fun to deal with. For the morning I had a twisted face of disgust as I stewed about it.
I started the afternoon strong with interviews. The first one was great, the second one was terrible at best, each one after that was increasingly more horrific. Is it a full moon? Friday the 13 th eve? My poor face stayed in the annoyance position. Thankfully none of these are on camera.
More progress was happening with the barndominium! Yay! Maybe we can get things moving a little more quickly.
We went to have our taxes done. Ugh! What a totally boring adult thing to do. It’s as much fun as a colonoscopy prep.
Thank goodness there are people that enjoy doing that sort of thing. I find it soooooo boring. I even thought about ways to get out of going to the appointment. “Sorry Paul, I can’t make it. I have an eye injury.” As I poke myself in the eye to create said injury.….except I guess taxes are better than injuring myself.
Turns out, we don’t have all of our documents yet. We will have access to some forms in June so we have to file an extension again this year. However, it looks like we may get a return. Woo hoo!
Paul and I went out to dinner afterward. Paul is getting excited about our trip and asking questions about what we are doing. He has negative input in the planning. He just shows up and has fun. I enjoy the planning process and exploring all the options available.
It was a good day even thought work was frustrating!
