5/30/25

Today I had a celebrity guest stop by the house this morning. It was Avery Reese! She was working remotely and thought it would be nice to work remotely together. Awe.i love that!

We went to Nana and Papa’s to visit. Obviously I brought my celebrity guest with me. The Aunt’s (both named Julie) were there. We spent the afternoon chatting and laughing a lot. We distinguish the Aunt Julie’s with “aunt” and “auntie”.

Aunt Julie and I went into the liquor store while Auntie Julie and Avery stayed in the car. We picked out some things for this evening. Julie picked up some peanut butter flavored tequila. It didn’t even sound good. But we were going to find out how aweful it was.

“How do people use this in a drink?” Julie asked the cashier.

The cashier was a bit grumpy and strait laced. She gruffly replied that “people just do shots”. She was not there to chat apparently.

She then asked Julie if she wanted two bottles. Julie explained that she was only buying a small bottle for us to try because it sounded so gross.

“It’s like being offered a fart flavored jelly bean.” She said. She meant that You try it because you’re curious, about how nasty it is.

The lady heard “fart flavored” and made a horrific face. You could tell she was not impressed with us. I explained that fart flavored jellybeans weren’t a real flavor and that was just an example.

By this time, we both were laughing. The cashier was NOT laughing. I explained that we had not had any drinks and we were completely sober having this conversation, which was true.

What a stick in the mud this cashier lady was!

We laughed about it all the way out to the car, shared the story and laughed some more.

We had a great time visiting. Nana made a nice dinner for us.

We gathered outside after dinner to meet up with all the parents as the kids were playing and visiting. The boys were playing badminton, throwing the baseball around and running around like wild animals. There was a campfire crackling. A couple kids were roasting marshmellows .  It was great.

It is always so interesting to see how the kids have grown and matured year to year. There weren’t as many kids present (ranging from age 5 -25 ish) this evening as there will be tomorrow.  I am hoping for less rain than they are calling for. Fingers and toes crossed!
