The appointments today were nerve wracking. We found the parking garage close by. Yay.
As we walked in, I heard someone calling my name. I looked and it was a previous boss of mine’s wife. She told me that my previous boss was inside. We got into the line and in fact, my previous boss was at the window checking in. I gritted under my breath to Ethan “you better be cordial.”
We chatted afterward. It has been almost 5 years since we have worked together. Ethan was cordial and shook his hand. Oh thank goodness.
We waited and waited for Ethan to be called. Ethan was miserable. He didn’t appreciate the wait. He didn’t appreciate that he took time off of work for this.
We were finally taken back by this bubbly lady. She asked Ethan if he got his fistula on purpose or by accident? I inquired what an accidental fistula situation would be….she described a basic injury to the vein.
We then saw a doctor. His language was at best somewhat understandable. English was not his first or second language. Ethan tried to answer his questions but it was obvious he was struggling. I would jump in and offer answers and then follow it with “did that answer your question?” Hoping I was close.
Next up was a meeting with a psychologist. He asked Ethan all sorts of questions. Ethan did a good job answering his questions.
We finally finished up. We got our parking validated and we left. I dropped Ethan back off at his job and headed for home.
At home I asked the dogs if they “wanted to go for a ride?” They, in fact DID want to go for a ride.
We arrived at camp 3 hours later. Just in time to see the beautiful sunset. I visited with my aunt and uncle, Paul was tinkering with their boat motor
My friend Heather arrived and we sat around the campfire for the evening. The air was calm. This is the life!
I’m happy the appt went relatively easily. And now it’s over and you are in paradise for the weekend. I hope Ethan’s sores get better soon
