 Happy Fourth of July!!!

🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

Today we celebrated the day we became independent! Ethan has been planning a fireworks extravaganza for quite some time. He made a special trip to Pennsylvania to pick up fireworks.

Ethan researched how to make his own fireworks. Sounds pretty dangerous right? He watched several YouTube videos and looked into the chemistry of making your own. He is very cautious so we weren’t too concerned.

We went out on the boat and went swimming for a few hours. I floated in a dual tube with Diane for the majority of the time. Avery and Kendall paddled around.  Phil hung out in the water. Ethan stayed back to set up his Display.

When we returned, Ethan had all of his show set up and fused. He fuses them so he only has to light them once which significantly reduces the chance for injury.

Ethan was exhausted. His mouth hurt and he was just tired. He spent a bit of time alone to rest up.

Our st Lucia crew was back together. Seth and Janice AND Heather and Jason came for the day. We made lots of meat, shush kabobs. We had sides galore! For dessert, Diane made some hot fudge and heath bar ice cream with cup cakes.

We chatted the evening away and then it was time. Some of us went out on Craig’s boat to watch the firreworks from the lake. Several people along the coast had fireworks they were shooting off.

The dogs were tucked away safely so if they became scared or worked, they had their “den” (aka crate). There are a few dogs along the shore that are upset by the fireworks. We discouraged Ethan from doing fireworks outside of the 4 th for the dog’s sake. The human’s sake too as some people don’t handle the noise well.

The display was amazing and lasted a little over 10 minutes. Everyone was cheering on Ethan’s fireworks. Afterward, he went to bed pretty quickly.

Happy fourth!
