7/5/25

We woke up to beautiful weather. You could tell it was “going to be a hot one”. It is also Avery’s best that as well as Andy’s birthday. Birthday twins!

It was the first day of Avery’s 20’s. As Avery pointed out today was the first day she could officially say she “beat teen pregnancy”.

We all slept in from the excitement of yesterday. I took Penny and Ferguson in the lake for a good last day of vacation bath.

I took Moe in too. He doesn’t love the actual swimming part. He doesn’t mind walking in the leg in water he can touch the bottom. He also discovered sitting in the lake. He kind of liked that. The water is quite pleasant. I went in and out multiple times today.

Moe got out and I hooked him up to the chain. I went inside and when I came back out, I found Moe covered head to toe in dirt. He had found some and rolled in it.

Naughty dog! Back in the lake you go!

I floated on a tube in the lake, we had some snacks.

We went out on the boat while the boys were jet skiing. As we were on our way out to the spot we anchor and swim at, Ethan and Phil had the jet ski’s and were riding back and forth, fast and faster.

They weren’t riding carelessly, just riding jet ski’s the way you are supposed to.

The next thing we see is Ethan fly off the jet ski, and his body skipped across the water like a rock being skipped at a pond. His limbs were in the air flailing about in the air as he skidded across the water..

The jet ski’s stopped as he had the tether appropriately secured to him.

He started swimming toward the jet ski’s, but it was kind of far from where he stopped. We rerouted the boat over to where Ethan was.

Ethan was not injured, but he lost his glasses to the lake. Some bass is swimming around wearing them with great vision.

Ethan climbed into the boat and we zoomed him over to the jet ski.  He climbed back on and started it back up. Away he went.

We continued our route to our swimming spot. Ut-oh, the boat stared making a funny noise.  We kept moving forward until the boat died. The engine was smoking.

We flagged Phil down called him over to the boat. Paul ended up trading spots with Phil. Paul tied up the pontoon boat and towed the boat full of people back to shore.

We decided just to swim around our spot on the lake (because that was our option). With warm temps, the lake feels so good.

After some assessment, the boat just needs a part that is far more affordable than a new engine.

Paul and I ended up taking Moe out on the paddle boat. He LOVED it. We paddled around for a little bit.

We had our dinner and then birthday cake and ice cream. A beautiful rendition of “Happy Birthday” was delivered to Andy and Avery. It was practically flawless, except for all the flaws.

Paul and I had a quick jet ski ride as the sun was setting, which is quite pretty. Then it was time for a fire.  Not a bad last day of vacation.
