The coffee cups are SO SMALL! They are more like espresso cups! Do American’s have a caffeine consumption issue?

We were off to the airport. We went through security. The weird thing they do is make you take out your liquids out of your bag. There is liquid dumping stations. My bag got flagged and they went through it. No explosives or terrible contraband in my bag!

We went to the Copenhagen version of  “Dunkin’ Donuts” and the food was WAY better. I got a basil, pesto and tomato hot sandwich. Yum!

The weird thing was, even though it was an international flight, we didn’t need to do anything special.

We were in boarding group 4. There were 5 boarding groups. I popped into line as soon as they said boarding group #4! Melissa was close to me and the way we zippered into line, David, the gentleman, was a bit behind us.

As we got on the plane, I noticed the lack of over bin space. Oh dear! There was no room! I was a little stressed and maybe even sweating as I held up the line.

I found a small bag that could easily fit under someone’s seat. “Whose bag is this?” I called out. I located the owner and told him I was moving it out of the way. He seemed concerned at first, but he quickly realized I wasn’t asking him. I was telling him it was being moved! I tetris’ed my bag into the bin close to my seat.

Melissa was right behind me. We had to go past our seats to find a bin. We moved coats and bags around and Melissa was able to shimmy her bag in a bin. We were certain the door wouldn’t close. We decided that was a stewardess issue, not a Patti and Melissa issue.

Somehow, David was left in the dust. He was pretty far behind us. The steward and stewardesses were making announcements about if you have two bags in the over head bin, you needed to put it under the seat.

Of course, no one did that.

David was left with his carry on bad and suitcase. One of the stewards was nice enough to take the suitcase and stash it up front for him.

The flight was uneventful which was good. We were surprised we didn’t have to do any customs routine or even have our passport checked. We then had to find our way to the tram. There really wasn’t too much direction. It seems in a foreign country, if you just follow the majority of people things work out in your favor.

As we were waiting for the train we verified what we were supposed to do and where to get off.

We started our 8 minute walk with luggage rolling behind us. Not bad. There were so many things to look at. The vibe of Stockholm is different than Copenhagen. It seems more relaxed maybe?

Our hotel is on the main strip of Drattningattin with tons of food places nearby.

The hotel was more of a boutique hotel. Rooms are small but a little more upscale than the previous hotel. The shower has knobs AND a door.

Toilets seem very deep. Maybe these people have massive stools?

We ate lunch at this cute little Mexican place. I had a margarita of course. Delicious!

We walked around just looking at things. We realized we were exhausted. I came to my room, settled in and took a bit of the nap. There is so much walking. Miles….

After our siesta we went to dinner and shared our meals with one another. I ordered the “sausage party” which was delicious. David got Swedish meatballs and Melissa go the salmon.

We also decided to get dessert. Because why wouldn’t we? I ordered the mini rhubarb pie. It was good but my mom’s rhubarb pie is better!

We made it back to the hotel in time for bed for tomorrow’s excursions.

It is supposed to rain tomorrow so we likely will be doing a few museums.
