What a long day. I had a boatload of meetings today. It was nice to look at the beautiful glass like state of the lake. It was a perfect temperature to work in.
I had a couple breaks every few hours to run inside and get the camper ready for relocation. We are taking it for the weekend to the in-laws in preparation for the epic “Cousins” Weekend. Cousins Weekend is where family gets together, along with non family that is considered family. We eat, watch the cousins mingle, play bocce, swim, enjoy a campfire, drink and be merry. It is spent with lots of fun people that we don’t get to see very often. It is a highlight of our summer.
We worked and packed, worked and packed. We finally were off “like a prom dress” around 5:30. Our drive was mostly uneventful. We did hear a loud thud of something the hit the camper above the truck cab. We assumed it was a bird. Poor bird.
We arrived at the in-laws around 9:00 pm. We were dropping the camper off and coming back on Thursday. That way we can enjoy the family and not have to make the 40 minute drive back and forth each day. We also will bring the circus of animals.
Paul noticed that what ever hit our camper, was not just a bird, it was a large bird and it left crap and remnants of itself all over the front of the camper. At least it died quickly…but all of its insides…we’re now on the outside of our camper! YUCK! What a mess. Paul had some colorful things to say about that shit-uation. 💩
As Paul was setting the camper up, he realized he left an important adapter back at camp. We made the trip to the local Walmart at 9:45 at night. Paul went in the store and got what he needed while I stayed back with the dogs and rabbit.
Some lady walked near our truck, that was still running and smoked her cigarette. Unfortunately, we must have some fan that blows out side air….inside. It was choking me out. Paul returned to the truck with said plug and back we went to continue disrupting their neighborhood and setting up.
We finally arrived home a little after 11 pm. Then had to unload all of our stuff, feed and water the babies. Phew! I started a load of laundry and then off to bed.
