Ethan’s Journey

 My travel advice for anyone booking airline tickets. DO NOT USE THIRD PARTY BOOKING SITES! Luckily, I was able to get Diane’s flight reimbursed through American Airline because I booked directly through the airline. I have used third party sites in the past and have been burned. This morning Paul and I sat outside having our coffee and enjoying the view. We listened to the birds, smelled the sweet smell of the trees and flowers. We decided to go to a new beach today, Xanadu beach. There was one other couple there on the beach with us. We found a little shady nook and put our towels down. The sun was hot and strong. It was closer to high tide. We saw a crab scurrying across the sand. He was ready to fight me. Claws up and in fighting stance. We also found some interesting things on the beach that made us wonder the back story. And we saw a sandalwood tree. Get it? We had the speaker going and the  water felt refreshing.  This morning I went for a walk across the street on the beach. It is about a 45 second walk. I thought I spotted a turtle. I ran back to get my camera. Turns out, it was just a tire. Boo! We did some light grocery shopping before heading to our dolphin encounter. At the dolphin encounter, there were fancy birds, tortoises and of course dolphins. The directions were simple. Leave your camera’s off the dock. We would get an opportunity to bring our phones down later. Of course one lady didn’t follow the directions. She got spoken too, like she should have. Then she decided to leave a poor review because SHE was an idiot and didn’t follow directions. She brought it up several times during and after the dolphin encounter. She was saying how terrible the woman was that told her she couldn’t use her phone.  What a jerk! I am likely going to write a review saying what an idiot the woman was for not following the directions. Our group wasn’t too big. We all got to get into the water ...

  For today’s exploration, we went to the boiling hole. It’s an underwater sink hole. It is known for its unique tidal phenomenon. It makes the water to be boiling.  It wasn’t as exciting as it was made out to be.  But the water was brilliant and we saw lots of ships which was cool. We were the only people there. We were right near the port. We saw many ships leaving and arriving at the port.We didn’t stay long before moving on to the next location. We then headed to paradise cove. It is a bar/restaurant where you can rent chairs and snorkel. We got some chairs and an umbrella. We quietly snuck in alcoholic beverages. We sat  off to the side and minded our own business. They left us alone.  We didn’t actually snorkel. We enjoyed the afternoon on the beach. We found a few sand dollars that were dead. Neat! We tried to go to a restaurant. We walked in and were seated.   It was a wonderful nights sleep windows open, it got down to 61 degrees. We had coffee and chatted the morning. We have a large sliding glass wall almost that we can open up over looking the pool and canal way. We discussed the plan for the day. Get out and See the island. We decided on going to the best beach on the island.    Why not? It is near the sand bar that I wanted to visit. Let’s do a meal there. Supposedly the best beach on the island is at Lucian national park. We packed up and drove there. The entire drive was on an expressway the was surrounded by dead trees. Hurricane Dorian caused mass destruction in 2019 and wiped out these forests. The 185+ winds plus the salt water did not support healthy forests. We got to Lucayan National Park. We took a bit of a walk to see the caves. They were pretty cool. We then went on a walk to Rock beach. We had a cooler packed. We found a picnic table to sit at. The ocean felt good.   Diane ended up taking us to the airport this morning. She volunteered. It was bitter sweet. She was making us laugh in the car.  TSA was not bad at all and we breezed right through it. There was a large man in front of me that had the unfortunate experience of being patted down. The TSA man assured the guy that he was using the back of his had as if that somehow made it better in his groin area. We had several baby’s on our flight. Andy looks around and says: “Where is this flight going? Epstein Island?” We laughed. So inappropriate. We arrived in Miami and it was actually pleasant outside. We had to get off and on the plane outside. That always seems so exotic to me. We had a 5 hour layover. Ethan was texting us. He was tracking our flight on radar and giving us updates on the dogs. We saw a lot of interesting people, interesting outfits, and interesting behaviors.    There was a girl wearing these odd shoes that I described to Paul as “camel toe” shoes. On guy I ...
