I started my journey to Denver, Colorado today. Airline travel is always an experience. There were moments of pride for my fellow humans, like the entire ladies room line let a little girl cut to the front of the line.
There were moments of shame for my fellow humans, when they said “remain in your seats for those with connecting flights to get off first.” And everyone jumped up with an every man for himself attitude.
Even in row 35 people jumped up and I had a lady’s (if this behavior warrants this title) butt in my face for 10 minutes. I took this picture with the camera in my lap.
The flights went well. My Uber driver was nice and told me all about the city and places to eat while staying there. There were snow tipped mountains in the distance which were really pretty.
I got the call from Ethan’s kidney doctor. NO REJECTION! YAY! Well that was a nail biter!
After discussion with the pathologist as well as the heart transplant team, Ethan will have to have blood testing for immunodeficiency diseases like lupus etc, to make sure there aren’t any underlying diseases lurking causing this problem. With all of the testing Ethan has had, I highly doubt this is the case, and she said it would be a low probability but we will rule it out.
They also wanted to adjust one of the 3 medications Ethan takes to protect against rejection. The one they wanted to increase, is the one that gives Ethan painful and ulcerative sores in his mouth. He has a sore currently he is dealing with.
I let her know that and asked if we could maybe not adjust that medication any higher because I knew it would be inhumane.
She got together with the cardiac transplant team and they agreed to adjust a different medication. I am so thankful that they listen and really care.
I called Ethan and told him the great news. I think he was relieved. He will gladly take the blood work in a few weeks and be done with the stress of this mess.
I finished up working and ended up going to bed at 8:00 (two hour time difference) out of pure exhaustion. Thank god tomorrow is Friday!

Great, great news!!!! No rejection!!! What a relieft!!! I'm glad you got to Denver with little issue. It seems like air travel can be dicey these days. Love your face in that pic. Priceless.
