7/2/23

Another beautiful day. The girls and I had to run to Cape Vincent to get more sunscreen, water shoes and a few other campin essentials.

We had some excitement this morning with a skunk running all around the property. It looked mange-y. It was dirty and it’s tail was scraggly. With all the dogs around, this was very unwelcome. However, it was so cute. It walked within a foot or so of me. It was young and not neurologic. Luckily I am rabies vaccinated so that wasn’t an issue. I don’t think it saw me. It was minding it’s own business and so was I.

We went out on the boat. The breeze was warm and welcoming. Jiminy came along in his shark life preserver and sun hat. He fell asleep very quickly.

We had the Canada haze still present and the air quality was again, not good.

Avery and Rachel were able to ride on the jet ski. Rachel was a bit uneasy.

We took the boat out and anchored it off shore and the girl’s swam. The water was 74 degrees. We found rocks that were smooth so we brought them back to paint. Then spent the late afternoon painting away.

We had dotting tools, paint brushes and our imaginations to help guide the artistic flow. Tomorrow, we will cover them in Modge Podge.

The lake was so calm tonight for our campfire. It was nice to sit around with family and listen to music.
