Checking into the airport was a nightmare. I arrived about 3 hours early as Denver is a big airport and I heard the lines have been epic. Well I was not prepared. The line at the security check point looked like a weaving endless loop of intestines turning and curving all around. Then, it lined down past several baggage corrals and around the corner.

Around the corner I went to wait in this line than seemed endless. The people around me were talking to the officers there and were told it would be a 3 hour wait to get through security. So many people were getting angry and disgruntled. They must have called in for back up.

They also were checking for explosives. That seemed random. I wondered if they had gotten a tip or something. When all hands were on deck, the line started moving. They also had a bomb sniffing dog that we had to walk near in pairs of two. The idiot lady I was paired with got yelled at by security because she wouldn’t let me stand next to her. I was trying to get the lady’s attention but she was so involved with her phone that she didn’t hear the multiple people shouting out the plan. “Put your phone down and pay attention!” The security person yelled out. Ha ha dummy! You got in trouble.

I was “randomly” selected to test my hands for gun powered residue. Turns out that the residue washed off from all the guns I was shooting off over night.  I am actually very thankful they are so diligent in making sure there is no contraband on the flights.

I grabbed an empanada for breakfast. It wasn’t like the delicious ones at the Rochester Public Market. I finally made it to my gate. Phew!

My flights went well. The second flight I sat next to a sweaty guy with a case of the cabbage farts. I didn’t really appreciate that. He brought his own garbage bag and he kept asking me for my trash.  Because I watch so many CSI things, I wouldn’t give him anything. I don’t want him to have my fingerprints or DNA.

When Paul picked me up I was done with people. I was grouchy and made him turn the radio off because I needed less noise. We did chat the whole way home which was good.

It felt good to be home. Not too much progress has been made on our sidewalk project as the weather has been uncooperative. That’s ok. I was able to look for more bulbs.

  1. I am not sure why it is changing everyone to anonymous? It does let me change it and include my name. So weird.

  3. I think you have to be actively logged into your Google account or whatever to not be anonymous... Anyway, this is Carrie saying WELCOME HOME - for a bit! And then more air travel to fun and amazing adventures. I wish you safe and easy travels for that!
