April Fools! While I didn’t play any jokes on anyone (too predictable), life played some jokes on me. A series of events occurred throughout my day that were annoyances. They kept building and so did my frustration level.

At one point I was so angry about the little things happening, they actually FELT like big things (but they weren’t). I was spiraling with my annoyance anger, ready to set things on fire and evil laugh while I watched them burn. Yikes!

I thought about ways to cope. This really wasn’t much fun and I couldn’t stand myself. I like to have control and I didn’t have it over my emotions. I know! I need a time out! The next available moment, I stepped away from my computer. I escape my annoyance and anger by playing bingo on my phone.

I like that because the only thing I can concentrate on is the game. The noise, the anger and annoyance goes away. I played 3 games in a row and was ready to get back to it. Who knew Bingo was such great meditation? I always tell Avery to stick me in a home that has Bingo and Happy hour. Otherwise, smuggler in some booze.

I had physical therapy this morning. My back is sore today. I have two palpable knots in my lower back. They are very tight and it makes it hurt to transition for a sit to stand position. I make lots of noises. Terrible noises. I am making “DAD” noises. They types of noise I get after Paul for making.

My glimmer of hope faded and I will have to shamefully take Moe to class without him knowing his homework. We will be drop outs. Well…maybe not drop outs, just the kids that sit in the back and can’t behave. Ha ha. I was feeling kind of bad about it, but then remembered the reason we signed up. For socialization. He will still be getting that. Plus, he is good company. I enjoy spending the time with him. He does try really hard to make us happy.

The next two weeks will be jam packed. I will be ready for vacation when it comes along.

When I start complaining, like I did earlier today, I try to find a few things I am thankful for. After thinking, I was thankful for the sunshine casting its rays on my dogs as they slept. I am also thankful my daffodil’s are peaking their yellow heads out.

  1. sharing this April Fools joke story that was shared in one of my work spaces today. I think you'll appreciate it:

Here is one that we did to my mother in law, spent a whole year leading up to it... we started by randomly hiding tiny little ducks of random colors around her house... through out the year she would get irritated by finding them. At 2am on April 1st I used my wife's key to get into her house and proceeded to dump over 2000 little ducks through out the rest of her house all over the floor. She still to this day has no clue who did it
